Abstract: An image sensor has a plurality of sensor integrated circuit devices of the same configuration arranged in a row. Each sensor integrated circuit device has a plurality of light-sensing elements, a sensor circuit for successively outputting the outputs of these light-sensing elements, and an amplifier circuit. It further has a first output terminal for directing the output of the sensor circuit out of the sensor integrated circuit device, an input terminal for directing an external signal to the amplifier circuit, and a second output terminal for directing the output of the amplifier circuit out of the sensor integrated circuit device. The first output terminal of each sensor integrated circuit device is connected to the input terminal of a particular sensor integrated circuit device so that the output of every light-sensing element is amplified by the amplifier circuit of that particular sensor integrated circuit device alone.

Abstract: An integration type A/D converter has two sets of integration type A/D converter sections which can be periodically switched over at a predetermined period, with one converter section integrating an input signal to give an integral output voltage and another converter section performing A/D conversion of the integral output voltage. Further, use is made of a residual time interval in the period of A/D conversion, for the integration of the ground voltage and a reference voltage and for A/D conversions of the integrated voltages. The inventive A/D converter permits accurate measurement of continuous integral values of a given input signal.

Abstract: A photoelectric conversion integrated circuit device for converting a light signal into a voltage signal has a photodiode that outputs a current in accordance with a light signal it receives, a current-to-voltage conversion circuit that outputs a voltage signal in accordance with a current signal it receives, and a test circuit that outputs a current and whose on/off state is controllable from the outside. At the output of the photodiode, two output terminals are provided, of which one is connected to the current-to-voltage conversion circuit and the other to the test circuit. This photoelectric conversion integrated circuit device allows a fault in the wiring between the photodiode and the current-to-voltage conversion circuit to be detected by feeding an input current to the current-to-voltage conversion circuit without shining light on the photodiode.
