The method includes monitoring an actual drilling parameter associated with the drilling operation; comparing the actual drilling parameter to a target drilling parameter to determine a deviation between the actual and target drilling parameters; creating, using the controller and in response to the deviation, instructions for a control system that controls an aspect of the drilling operation; drilling, using the instructions and the controller, the wellbore; monitoring, using the controller, a change in deviation in response to drilling using the instructions; determining that the change in deviation is below a threshold; and determining, based on the change in deviation being below the threshold, that there is a potential problem with the drilling equipment.

摘要: A system and method of automating a slide drilling operation comprising a plurality of tasks is described, in particular, reducing stored torque within a drill string that extends within a wellbore that includes storing, using a computing system, a first predetermined workflow to reduce stored torque within the drill string, and a second predetermined workflow to reduce stored torque within the drill string, wherein the first predetermined workflow comprises instructions to vertically move the drill string in first and opposing second directions; and wherein the second predetermined workflow comprises instructions to rotate the drill string in a first direction. Further included are a graphical user interface operably coupled to the computing system, a controller of the computing system receives a selection command selecting the first predetermined workflow or the second predetermined workflow, and a specific parameter is selected and one of the first and second predetermined workflows is automatically executed.

The method includes presenting, on a GUI, selectable indicators, with each indicator being associated with one task from the plurality of tasks; wherein the GUI is coupled to a controller in communication with drilling equipment, wherein the controller is configured to: receive data from the drilling equipment; and control the drilling equipment using predetermined workflows and task parameters; receiving a selection command associated with: a selectable indicator, a first task, and a first predetermined workflow; presenting on the GUI, in response to the receipt of the selection command, a dialogue box for receiving task parameters associated with the first predetermined workflow; receiving, using the dialogue box, the task parameters; and executing, using the controller and the drilling equipment, the first task using the first predetermined workflow and the first plurality of task parameters.

These closed-loop systems generate and optimize parameters or target outputs, instructions to surface systems, and instructions for the RSS itself.

摘要: A method that includes an electronic application identifying a downlink sequence for execution by a surface control system of a drilling rig, with the sequence including target output values of a mud pump system and/or a drive system. The method includes instructing the control system to operate in accordance with the sequence. The application receives measured output values of the mud pump system and/or the drive system and calculates differences between the target and measured output values. When the differences are within a level of tolerance, then the application identifies the control system as compliant; and when the differences are greater than the level of tolerance, then the application identifies the control system as non-compliant. The method also includes the application receiving data from a BHA of the drilling rig and determining, based on the data received, if a downlink to the BHA was successful.

摘要: A method, apparatus, and system according to which a drilling engine includes a template having a plurality of data fields outlining operational steps and parameters to perform a drilling process, the data fields having a plurality of recipe settings input therein to facilitate performance of the drilling process. A computer system communicates with the drilling engine and an operational equipment engine, and is configured to send a first control signal, based on the template and the recipe settings, to the operational equipment engine to cause the operational equipment engine to perform the drilling process to drill a first wellbore segment. A sensor engine is configured to monitor a key performance indicator (“KPI”) of the operational equipment engine during the performance of the drilling process. In some embodiments, the drilling engine includes a recipe optimization module configured to modify, based on the monitored KPI, at least one of the recipe settings.

摘要: A drilling rig apparatus is disclosed for improving autodriller control during directional drilling. A BHA determines a relationship between downhole WOB and downhole differential pressure and sends the relationship to a surface controller. The relationships may be sent on a set periodic basis or dynamically in response to the relationships over time differing from each other above a threshold amount. The surface controller estimates downhole WOB by inputting surface differential pressure into a formula implementing the relationship from downhole. The estimated downhole WOB is input into the autodriller for control and is used to estimate MSE. Downhole WOB, either estimated or actual values, may further be used to determine a ratio between downhole WOB and surface-determined WOB values. If the ratio falls below zero in comparison to a prior ratio, then a slack-off rate is adjusted until the ratio reaches zero or a positive value again.
