Abstract: A technique may include controlling downlink transmission of an uplink grant for one or more uplink data transmissions by a communication device. The uplink grant identifies one combination from a set of predetermined combinations of one or more transmission time intervals and one or more uplink reference signal transmissions, including at least one combination of two or more transmission time intervals and one or more uplink reference signal transmissions. The technique may also include using the one or more uplink reference signal transmissions of the identified combination to assist the recovery of data from the one or more uplink radio data transmissions by the communication device in the one or more transmission time intervals of the identified combination.

Abstract: In accordance with example embodiments of the invention there is at least a method and apparatus to identify, by a user equipment of a communication network, downlink control information (DCI) indicating that at least one hybrid automatic repeat request-acknowledgment (HARQ-ACK) codebook scheduled earlier for transmission needs to be re-transmitted in a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) occasion indicated by the DCI and identifying which at least one HARQ-ACK codebook scheduled earlier for transmission needs to be re-transmitted in the PUCCH occasion. And based on the DCI, prepare the PUCCH for re-transmitting the identified at least one HARQ-ACK codebook in the PUCCH occasion. Further, to determine and transmit, by a network equipment of a communication network, the DCI to the user equipment of the communication network and to receive the PUCCH for re-transmitting the at least one HARQ-ACK codebook in the PUCCH occasion from the user equipment.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for a transmission mode with user equipment (UE) independent physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) scrambling for inter-cell and intra-cell PDSCH-to-PDSCH interference cancellation. A method may include configuring (610) a first identifier (e.g. first RNTI) for a first UE. The method may also include performing at least one of indicating (620) (e.g. semi-statically) a second identifier (e.g. PDSCH RNTI own) for the first UE, or indicating (630) (e.g. semi-statically) a third identifier (e.g. PDSCH RNTIJnt) for the first UE. The first identifier (e.g. first RNTI) is for at least one of operation of physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) of the first UE, or operation of PDSCH of the first UE if the second identifier (e.g. PDSCH RNTI own) is not indicated to the first UE; the second identifier (e.g. PDSCH RNTI own) is for at least one of scrambling or descrambling PDSCH of the first UE; and the third identifier (e.g. PDSCH RNTIJnt) is for at least one of scrambling or descrambling a PDSCH of a second (e.g. interfering) UE. The transmission of the second UE may cause interference on the reception of a PDSCH at the first UE.

Abstract: A method, apparatus, and a computer-readable storage medium are provided for constructing a HARQ-ACK codebook for managing the trade-off between codebook size and feedback granularity. In an example implementation, the method may include a network node determining a second time domain resource allocation table and transmitting configuration information to the UE. The method may further include the network node transmitting downlink data to the UE and receiving the one or more ACKs and/or NACKs from the UE in response to the transmitting of the downlink data, the one or more ACKs/NACKs being generated based at least on the second time resource allocation table. In another example implementation, the method may include a user equipment (UE) receiving configuration information from a network node, receiving downlink data from the network node, and transmitting one or more ACKs/NACKs to the network node.

Abstract: Systems and techniques for synchronization between in-coverage and out-of coverage user devices. A base station configures in-coverage and out-of coverage synchronization signals and configures user devices to recognize synchronization signals as in-coverage or out-of-coverage. An in-coverage device furnishes an in-coverage synchronization signal upon detection of an out-of coverage signal, and may continue to furnish the signal upon continued detection of an out-of-coverage signal that is not synchronized to the network. An out-of-coverage device may receive and synchronize to an in-coverage signal if available, or an out-of-coverage signal if available, or may generate and transmit its own out-of-coverage signal if no in-coverage or out-of-coverage signal is available. Signals may include rank information to indicate relay sequence information, and user devices may be configured to respond to signals based on the rank information—such as favoring a signal whose rank indicates that the signal represents a lower relay order number.
