    Abstract: A suspension includes a load beam with first and second openings, a flexure including first and second outriggers, and first and second damper members. The first damper member is attached to the load beam and part of the first outrigger that overlaps the first opening of the load beam. The second damper member is attached to the load beam and part of the second outrigger that overlaps the second opening of the load beam. The first opening includes a region which is not covered by the first damper member, and the second opening includes a region which is not covered by the second damper member.

    Abstract: An actuator mounting section includes a plate member including a first plate and a second plate. The first plate is formed with an opening which accommodates an actuator element. The second plate includes a main body portion which overlaps the first plate and supporting portions which support opposite ends of the actuator element. A narrow portion narrower than the first plate is formed at a part of the main body portion of the second plate. A weld seal portion is formed by laser-welding the first plate and the second plate at the narrow portion. Adhesive is provided between the opposite ends of the actuator element and an inner surface of the opening of the first plate.

    Abstract: A suspension includes a load beam, a flexure and a dimple portion. The flexure includes a tongue. The dimple portion swingably supports the tongue at least over a first position and a second position. In the tongue, first pillow portions supporting a slider and an adhesive portion fixing the slider are provided. In the load beam, a second pillow portion protruding towards the slider is provided. The second pillow portion is in contact with the slider when the tongue is located at the first position, and separates from the slider when the tongue has moved to the second position.

    Abstract: A flexure is provided along a first surface of a load beam. The flexure includes a tongue on which a slider is mounted, a first outrigger arm, and a second outrigger arm. A first damping member is provided in a first outrigger root portion.
