    Abstract: A projection device is provided with at least: a laser light source which emits laser light; a conversion unit which converts the laser light into parallel light; a phase-modulation-type spatial modulation element which phase-modulates the parallel light on the basis of a supplied projection image and delivers phase-modulated light; and a control unit. The control unit includes: a projection image storage unit in which at least one projection image group is stored; a processing unit which, with respect to one projection image acquired from the projection image storage unit in synchronism with an update period, generates a combination of a plurality of diffraction patterns in the update period; and a projection image generation unit which supplies the combination of a plurality of diffraction patterns to the phase-modulation-type spatial modulation element as the supplied projection image.

    Abstract: An image reading device that efficiently performs shading correction that flexibly responds to changes in the diffusion properties of reflected light on the surface of a reading target efficiently performing same as a result of including: controlling a plurality of light sources so as to cause only a specific light source among the light sources to be lit; obtaining the diffusion state of a first reflected light generated by the specific light source being lit, in a state in which general shading correction data not dependent on the image reading target is generated; obtaining a diffusion state for a second reflected light generated by light being irradiated on to the reading target by the specific light source; and generating dedicated shading correction data that relies on the reading target, based on the first reflected light diffusion state, the second reflected light diffusion state, and the general shading correction data.

    Abstract: A projection device comprises: a spatial light modulator having a display unit whereon a pattern corresponding to a display image is presented; a light source arranged to irradiate the display unit with emission light; a projection optical system arranged on the optical path of the reflected light of the emission light incident on the display unit and projecting projection light with the high order component included in the reflected light removed therefrom; and a projection control unit that causes the display unit to present a composite image that combines an image formed by a virtual lens that focuses the emission light incident on the display unit at a first focus position with the pattern corresponding to the display image, and controls the light source so that the display unit is irradiated with the emission light.
