Abstract: The described connector assemblies are useful in wire-to-board systems. Some assemblies include a free-end connector that is attached to a twin-ax cable, and a fixed-end connector that is attached to a board. Embodiments include a free-end terminal set including a first signal terminal, a second signal terminal and a ground plate. The ground plate has a horseshoe shape and provides a ground terminal on opposing sides of the first and second signal terminals. Additionally, embodiments include a locking system between the free-end connector and fixed-end connector, and lead designs for the fixed-end connector utilizing a similar horseshoe shape as that used for the ground plate of the free-end connector.

Abstract: A multi-level, multi-connector assembly that may include high-speed, low-speed and power terminals is protected from electromagnetic interference. The multi-level, multi-port connector assembly includes a bottom port connector connected with a circuit board, a top port connector positioned over the bottom port connector, and an electromagnetic shielding cage positioned over both the top port connector and the bottom port connector to provide shielding from a range of electromagnetic interference (EMI) for the top port connector and the bottom port connector. Each of the top and bottom port connectors comprise power and communication signal conductors, where the signal conductors are operable to conduct at least high-speed communication signals.

Abstract: An assembly including a plug connector (22) and a conductive cage (20). The plug connector includes a housing (44), a projection (66) extending therefrom, and a paddle card (60) mounted therein. Abstract: A cage includes a cage housing forming an inner area with internal walls that define an upper port and a lower port. Each of the ports include a cap that forms a keyway. The cap in an upper bay can extend from the upper bay in a direction that is opposite a direction the cap in the lower port extends. The cage may include a plurality of spring fingers therein which engage with a conductive bezel. The cage provides EMI shielding for the plug connector.
