摘要: Provided are carbon fiber bundles which have high knot strength even if the single fiber fineness is large, and which have excellent handling properties and processability. The carbon fiber bundles have a single fiber fineness of 0.8-2.5 dtex, knot strength of 298 N/mm2 or greater. This method of producing carbon fibers having knot strength of 298 N/mm2 or greater involves a heat treatment step for heat treating, for 50-150 minutes, specific polyacrylonitrile-based precursor fiber bundles described in the description in an oxidizing atmosphere rising in temperature in the temperature range of 220-300° C.

摘要: A sizing agent for carbon fiber includes component (A), component (B), and component (C), in which the component (A) is at least one selected from the group consisting of component (A-1), component (A-2), and component (A-3); the component (A-1) is a urethane compound having a structure of Formula (1-1) in the molecule, the component (A-2) is an ester compound having a structure represented by Formula (1-2) in the molecule, the component (A-3) is an amide compound having a structure of Formula (1-3) in the molecule; the component (B) is an epoxy compound selected from the group consisting of an epoxy compound represented by Formula (2), an epoxy compound represented by Formula (3), and an epoxy compound represented by Formula (4); and the component (C) is a bisphenol type epoxy compound.

摘要: A carbon fiber manufacturing method with which high quality carbon fibers can be obtained. The carbon fiber manufacturing method includes introducing carbon fiber precursor fiber bundles that have been spread in sheet form into a flameproofing furnace, flameproofing the carbon fiber precursor fiber bundles introduced into the flameproofing furnace in a temperature range of 200° C. to 300° C., introducing the flameproofed fiber bundles obtained from the flameproofing treatment into a carbonization furnace, and carbonizing the flameproofed fiber bundles introduced into the carbonization furnace in a temperature range of 300° C. to 2500° C. The flameproofing furnace includes a heat-treatment chamber and a sealing chamber adjacent thereto and discharges air from the sealing chamber to outside of the flameproofing furnace. The space velocity (SV) (1/h) of hot air blown from the heat-treatment chamber into the sealing chamber satisfies relationship: 80≤SV≤400.
