摘要： An imaging device receives from a host image data and commands including a normal command and a real-time command to be processed prior to the normal command. A receiver receives a real-time processing disable command with a parameter indicating a number of bytes of the image data, and a processor processes the image data in terms of the number of bytes without processing the real-time command, after processing the real-time processing disable command. In a method for so controlling an imaging device, the host controls transmission of image data and commands including normal and real-time commands to an imaging device as noted above. The host comprises a detector that determines if data to be transmitted includes image data, and a processor that transmits the image data after transmitting a real-time processing disable command with the parameter described above, if the detector determines that the data includes the image data.

摘要： Methods of controlling an information processing device in the sending of commands to a printer for control thereof, methods of controlling transmission of bit-map data, and systems embodying data and command flow control distinguish between true and false real-time commands. In one aspect, it is determined if a data stream to be transmitted includes bit-map data. If so, then a real-time processing disable command is sent; and then the data stream including the bit-map data is sent. In another aspect, if the status of real-time command receipt is disabled, then a data stream including bit-map data is transmitted, followed by the transmission of a real-time processing enable command, and then the transmission of a real-time command. In a system including a host computer and a printer, a detector determines if a data stream to be transmitted from the host computer to the printer includes bit-map data, and a processor transmits a real-time processing disable command from the computer to the printer; and then transmits the data stream including the bit-map data to the printer, if and when the detector determines that the data stream includes bit-map data.

摘要： A host device to control transmission of bit-map data and/or one or more real-time commands to an imaging device controls processing of a data stream including the bit-map data. In one aspect, if a detector of the host determines that a data stream to be transmitted includes bit-map data, then a processor of the host sends a real-time processing disable command; and then sends the data stream including the bit-map data. In another aspect, if a detector of the host determines that real-time command receipt by the imaging device is disabled, then a processor of the host transmits a data stream including bit-map data, followed by the transmission of a real-time processing enable command, and then the transmission of a real-time command. An imaging device and controlling its receipt and processing of data are also provided.

摘要： A printer which includes a paper selector for setting return amount and return amount memories for storing return amounts for at least two kinds of recording paper. The type of recording paper is selected by a printer control command so that a return amount for continuing a printing operation specific to the selected type of recording paper can be set. As a result, printing can be executed once a return amount has been set for each type of recording paper if the user wishes to print on different types of recording paper having different return amounts, thereby reducing the burden on the part of the host computer in controlling the printer and increasing the printing speed of the printer.
