Abstract: A mobile communication device and a method thereof are provided. The method, adopted by a mobile communication device connected to a serving cell, including: receiving a measurement request for a first target cell; in response to the measurement request, acquiring first timing information of first system information for a first target cell; scheduling an autonomous gap substantially corresponding to occurrence of the first system information according to the first timing information; and initiating the autonomous gap to receive the first system information from the first target cell.
