    摘要: The purpose of the present invention is to provide a projection type image display apparatus which is simple in configuration, low in price, and improved in reliability and brightness of an illumination light source. The present invention is a projection type image display apparatus provided with: a lamp; a reflector that reflects a light flux emitted from the lamp; a collimating lens that collimates the light reflected by the reflector; a light modulation device that modulates the collimated light to output the modulated light; and a projection lens that projects the modulated light. The reflector is configured to prevent the lamp from being irradiated with the reflected light of the light flux emitted from the lamp, and the collimating lens is formed of one biconcave lens having concave surfaces on both the incident side and the exit side.

The light condensed by the lens means is emitted from a front side face of the light guide element onto a road surface in front of the vehicle.

    摘要: A projection video display device includes a projection video display main body (main body) including a light source and a video display element and generating a video to be projected, a portrait converter that rotates the video generated by the main body around an optical axis by 90°, and a projection lens that magnifies and projects the video rotated by the portrait converter. The main body rotates directions of OSD (On Screen Display) images and in the video generated by the video display element to an opposite direction to or in the same direction as a rotation direction of the video by the portrait converter by 90°. Accordingly, the OSD image can be displayed in a direction in which it is easy for the user to see in portrait projection screens.
