Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for detection and avoidance. An example system may include a plurality of radars and a host machine that includes one or more circuits. Each radar is configured to provide radar measurement capabilities. Each radar is also configured to provide at least a partial field of view coverage. The plurality of radars is configured or arranged to provide an extended coverage detection area based on at least two radars being configured or arranged to provide detection in different directions and/or to have only partial overlap of coverage. The host machine is connected to each radar via a corresponding data connection, and the one or more circuits are configured to manage or control operation of the plurality of radars; process radar measurements obtained via the plurality of radars; and provide or support detection related functions based at least in part on the processing of the radar measurements.

As drones are needed, a central command point tasks an available drone, which may or may not already be located in proximity to a target. If additional drones are needed, drones can be flown to the area of interest and continuous coverage provided by charging drones while an active drone is conducting the mission, then rotating charged drones into the active mission. Structures for the hangars, the overall system, and methods of operation are described.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for small object detection using radar. An example arrangement may include a plurality of radars, and at least one processing node that includes one or more processing circuits. The plurality of radars are physically separated. The plurality of radars is arranged such that coverage areas of the plurality of radars overlap, at least partially. The plurality of radars is configured to utilize differentiation techniques for differentiating each of the plurality of radars. The plurality of radars is configured to share detection related data obtained or generated by each of the plurality of radars based on detection of objects within the coverage areas. The one or more processing circuits are configured to process the shared detection related data and information relating to positions of the radars, to detect and/or track one or more objects.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for improving radar angular resolution. Radar operations in one or more nodes may be controlled, with the controlling including applying one or more measures for improving radar angular resolution for at least one radar deployed on one of the one or more nodes, with the improving of radar angular resolution entailing increasing radar angular resolution for the at least one radar relative to an identical radar operated in identical conditions. The one or more measures comprise fusing radar data with data from other data sources, movement of radar platforms, use of multiple radars for triangulation, use of multiple nodes moving in formation, and creating features or distortions of antenna beams. The one or more nodes may be aerial drones.
