摘要： An image recording apparatus according to one aspect comprises: a first tray disposed within an opening of a main body to allow a recording medium to be placed thereon; a second tray disposed above the first tray, the second tray having a second end portion located on a side of the opening; a conveying unit; and a recording unit. The second tray is movable between a first posture and a second posture. When the second tray is in the first posture, a top surface of the second tray in the vicinity of the second end portion is positioned at a predetermined height relative to the first tray. When the second tray moves from the first posture to the second posture, the top surface in the vicinity of the second end portion is moved toward the first tray.

The control section intermittently drives the main transporting roller pair and makes the recording head jet ink during a period of time in which the main transporting roller pair is stopped, and performs pre-paper feeding processing for rotating the first feeding roller a predetermined amount in a paper feeding direction when a rear end of a paper is positioned between a first sensor and the first feeding roller.

A sheet insertion opening is formed between an upstream end of the cover member and the discharged sheet placing portion and communicates with the second sheet placing portion. The auxiliary sheet discharging tray is movable in a forward direction and a rearward direction opposite to the forward direction, with respect to the sheet insertion opening.

摘要： A printer has a carriage being movable between a first end and a second end of a reciprocating path; and a driving force transmitting path selecting mechanism provided at the second end of the reciprocating path. The selecting mechanism has: a common driving force outputting member; a plurality of force receiving members; a selecting member; and a position retainer for keeping the position of the selecting member. The selecting member connects the force outputting member to one of the plurality of force receiving members, and moves in association with the carriage when the carriage moves in a vicinity of the second end in a first direction extending from the first end to the second end. The position retainer keeps the position of the selecting member when the carriage moves in a second direction extending from the second end to the first end. The force receiving member connected to the force outputting member via the selecting member is selected in accordance with a movement of the carriage along the reciprocating path.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes a sheet feed tray for loading a recording sheet, a sheet feed roller that conveys the recording sheet toward an image forming device, a conveyor roller that is disposed downstream of the sheet feed roller in a recording sheet conveying direction and that applies a conveying force on the recording sheet, a sheet position detection device that detects a position of the recording sheet in a conveying path, and a conveyor roller control device that controls a rotation amount of the conveyor roller in accordance with the detected position of the recording sheet. The control device allows the rotation amount of the conveyor roller to become greater, when a recording sheet contacts the sheet feed roller and the conveyor roller, than a rotation amount of the conveyor roller when the recording sheet contacts the conveyor roller but might not contact the sheet feed roller.
