Abstract: Provided is a traffic pattern adaptive modem (modulator-demodulator) gear control method for an electronic device. The traffic pattern adaptive modem (modulator-demodulator) gear control method includes: when a first criteria is met, on-line collecting a period of input data; executing traffic prediction; whether a second criteria is met to apply the traffic prediction is determined; when the second criteria is met, based on the traffic prediction, a modem gear is adaptively adjusted; and when the second criteria is not met, an algorithm is trained or a period is waited for continuing monitoring whether the second criteria is still met.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide a method and an apparatus for monitoring a paging occasion (PO). For example, the apparatus can include receiving circuitry and processing circuitry. The receiving circuitry can be configured to receive an SS block burst set including a sequence of SS blocks that are each associated with a paging early indicator indicating whether a paging massage is presented in at least one PO that comes later than the SS block burst set. The processing circuitry can be configured to monitor the at least one PO for the paging message when the paging early indicator indicates that the paging message is presented in the at least one PO, and enter a sleep state without monitoring the at least one PO when the paging early indicator indicates that the paging message is not presented in the at least one PO.

Abstract: A communications apparatus includes an antenna module, multiple front-end signal processing circuits, and a processor. The antenna module transmits and receives RF signals for communicating with a network device and includes at least one antenna. Each front-end signal processing circuit is coupled to the antenna module for receiving the RF signals and processing the RF signals. The processor is coupled to the front-end signal processing circuits. The processor determines whether there is any downlink data to be received from the network device according to the content of received RF signals. When there is some downlink data to be received from the network device, the processor determines to turn off at least one front-end signal processing circuit and only use the remaining front-end signal processing circuits to process the received RF signals.
