A mobile communication device with a Radio Frequency (RF) unit and a processing unit is provided. The RF unit transmits and receives wireless signals to and from a service network. The processing unit configures the RF unit to communicate with the service network in a DRX operation, and uses a Physical Broadcast Channel (PBCH) for synchronizing with the service network during the DRX operation.

Aspects of the disclosure provide an apparatus that includes a transceiver circuit and a baseband processing circuit. The transceiver circuit is configured to transmit signals that carry a data unit to another apparatus and receive signals that carry a response from the other apparatus. The baseband processing circuit is configured to provide a first digital stream to carry a data unit to the transceiver circuit for transmission, and provide a second digital stream to carry a portion of the data unit to the transceiver circuit for retransmission when the transceiver circuit receives a response that is indicative of a partial receiving failure of the data unit at the other apparatus.

A control method for a radio frequency (RF) receiver of a user equipment (UE) and UE are provided. The control method includes the steps of detecting whether at least one blocker exists; determining a current scenario of the UE when the blocker does not exist; obtaining a signal-to-noise-ratio (SNR) target corresponding to the current scenario; and selecting an operation mode from a plurality of power modes according to the SNR target to operate the RF receiver.
