Proposed is a process for producing ethylene wherein using a dehydrogenation of ethane a process gas containing at least ethane, ethylene and compounds having a lower boiling point than ethane and ethylene is formed, wherein using at least a part of the process gas a separation input is formed and subjected to a low-temperature separation (6) in which the separation input is cooled and in which one or more condensates are separated from the separation input, wherein the condensate(s) are at least partly subjected to a low-temperature rectification to obtain a gaseous first fraction and a liquid second fraction, wherein the gaseous first fraction contains at least the ethane and the ethylene in a lower proportion than in the separation input and the compounds having a lower boiling point than ethane and ethylene in a higher proportion than in the separation input. It is provided that the first fraction is at least partly subjected to a pressure swing adsorption (7) by means of which a third fraction containing predominantly or exclusively ethylene and ethane and a fourth fraction containing predominantly or exclusively methane and carbon monoxide are formed. A corresponding plant (100) likewise forms part of the subject matter of the present invention.

The product stream (g) is fed, in at least partially gaseous form, into an absorption column (6) operated with a liquid reflux, a gaseous top stream (m) being removed from the absorption column (6) at the top and a liquid sump stream (p) being removed at the bottom. The sump stream (p) is at least partially fed into a first distillation column (5), a gaseous transfer stream (q) containing dimethyl ether and a stream (r) predominantly containing methanol and/or water being removed from the first distillation column (5). The top stream (m) is at least partially cooled initially to a first temperature level and subsequently further cooled to one or more further temperature levels, a first condensate stream (n) being formed after the cooling to the first temperature level and one or more further condensate streams (s, t) being formed after the further cooling to the further temperature level or levels. The first condensate stream (n) is partially used to form the liquid reflux and the further condensate stream or streams (s, t) is or are at least partially fed into a further distillation column (9), from which a liquid stream (z) predominantly containing dimethyl ether and poor in or free from carbon dioxide is removed at the bottom. The invention also relates to a corresponding separation apparatus and an apparatus (100) for producing dimethyl ether.

A process is proposed for production of dimethyl ether (DME) from synthesis gas (SG), in which at least one feed stream formed from synthesis gas (SG) is subjected to at least one synthesis step, in which components present in the feed stream are at least in part converted to dimethyl ether (DME), wherein at least one crude product stream is obtained which contains at least dimethyl ether (DME) and the unreacted components of the feed stream. The feed stream contains at least hydrogen, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide, and has a stoichiometric number of 2.0 to 5.0. The feed stream further contains 4 to 20 mol percent carbon dioxide, and the ratio of carbon dioxide to carbon monoxide in the feed stream is in a range from 0.5 to 4. The at least one synthesis step is carried out under isothermal conditions. A system for production of dimethyl ether (DME) from synthesis gas (SG) is likewise subject matter of the present invention.
