Provided is an artificial intelligence refrigerator. The artificial intelligence refrigerator includes a cabinet defining a storage space, a door opening and closing the cabinet, a transparent display assembly which covers an opened see-through part of the door and through which an inner space of the artificial intelligence refrigerator is seen, and a screen is outputted, a display PCB controlling an operation of the transparent display assembly, a voice recognition unit connected to the display PCB to process a user's voice signal, and a microphone connected to the voice recognition unit. The display PCB outputs output screens of the transparent display assembly in stages according to a processing state of the voice signal when a user's voice is inputted.

Disclosed are a method for providing a meal plan using a refrigerator, and a refrigerator using the same. The method for providing a meal plan using a refrigerator comprises: storing information on food materials stored in a refrigerator; receiving personal information related to a user's health status; updating pre-stored personal information based on the received personal information; generating a reference meal plan based on the stored food material information, such that a plurality of replaceable dishes are included in the reference meal plan; providing a priority of the personal information based on input personal information and a user's selection; generating a meal plan by correcting the reference meal plan, such that dishes cooked with ingredients beneficial to personal information having a high priority are included in the reference meal plan; and providing a meal plan for a special day or a predetermined time period according to a user's selection, wherein at least part of dishes included in the meal plan includes one or more replaceable dishes.

A refrigerator includes a cabinet, a door, a transparent panel assembly disposed at the door and defining a see-through part through which an interior of the refrigerator is visible, and a first light disposed closer to the interior than the transparent panel assembly to brighten an area viewed by the see-through part. The transparent panel assembly includes transparent panels spaced apart from each other to define an accommodation space, a display disposed in the accommodation space to output a screen, and a second light brightening the display. The display, the first light, and the second light are selectively turned off according to manipulation of a user to be converted into an opaque state in which the interior is not visible and a transparent state in which the interior is visible, and in the transparent state, a screen is outputted while an inner space of the refrigerator is seen.
