Abstract: The present disclosure provides a mobile terminal capable of expanding a display unit, and a control method therefor. When an event occurs, the mobile terminal of the present disclosure provides a user with convenience by enabling the user to select whether to expand the display unit upon execution of the event. Specifically, the event can be the execution of a specific application or the reception of a notification related to a call or a message.
