Abstract: A modular seat assembly includes a seat frame, a modular seat component for engaging the seat frame including a mounting bracket, a cable routed towards the frame and engaged with the mounting bracket, and a cable tensioning system. The cable tensioning system is configured to tighten the cable into a tensioned state and release the cable into a slacked state. In the tensioned state, the modular seat component is secured to the seat frame via engagement of the cable with the mounting bracket, and in the slacked state, the modular seat component is releasable from the cable via disengagement of the cable from the respective mounting bracket.

Abstract: A vehicle seat includes an illuminated graphic feature. The vehicle seat includes an occupant support. The vehicle seat also includes a light source supported on the occupant support. The light source emits light in an illumination direction when activated. The seat also includes a graphic image that the light that travels in the illumination direction. A cover layer is located in the illumination direction from the graphic image. An illuminated graphic feature is visible through the cover layer when the light source is activated.

Abstract: A vehicle trim assembly comprises a foam bun, an electrically insulative top finish layer above the foam bun, a thermal gradient assembly under the finish trim layer, and a thermal enhancement layer between the thermal gradient assembly and the finish trim layer. The thermal gradient assembly is adapted to generate a thermal gradient when receiving an electric current and has an electrically conductive top layer, an electrically conductive bottom layer, and a semiconductor layer having first and second semiconductor regions between the top and bottom layers. The thermal enhancement layer has a thermal conductivity adapted to direct thermal energy transfer between the thermal gradient assembly and the finish trim layer.

Abstract: A vehicle seat assembly is provided with a seat bottom pivotally mounted to an actuator and a vehicle floor. A controller is in electrical communication with the actuator and programmed to receive input indicative of a seating position angle, and input indicative of a potential vehicle impact. A signal is output to the actuator to pivot the seat to a nearest one of the plurality of predefined seat orientations if the seating position is not one of the plurality of predefined seat orientations when the input indicative of the potential vehicle impact is received. The signal is not output to the actuator if the seating position is one of the plurality of predefined seat orientations when the input indicative of the potential vehicle impact is received. The plurality of predefined seat orientations is offset radially at sequential increments.

Abstract: A head restraint assembly is provided to be mounted within a vehicle. A head restraint is supported by the cross member in a lateral direction and adapted to rotate about a lateral axis of the cross member. A fixed locking member is mounted within the head restraint. A latch is mounted to slide on the cross member between a first latch position engaged with the locking member and at a second latch position released from the fixed locking member. A lever is provided proximate the latch to move the latch between the first latch position and the second latch position. A motor is in communication with the lever such that the motor moves the lever to translate the latch from the first latch position to the second latch position. The head restraint is rotatable about the cross member when the latch is in the second latch position.

Abstract: A seat assembly with an adjustable head restraint assembly capable of being adjusted based on an approximate stature or spatial location of an occupant in the seat assembly. A seat assembly may include a sensor in the seat to detect if an occupant is present. The sensor may include a plurality of bladders and pressure sensors, a radar system, or a neuro-monitoring sensor. The sensor may send a signal to a controller indicating the presence of an occupant. The controller may approximate the size and/or spatial location of the occupant and send an adjustment signal to the head restraint adjustment mechanism to adjust the head restraint assembly to an in-use position. The controller may determine that an occupant is not present and send an adjustment signal to the head restraint adjustment mechanism to adjust the head restraint assembly to a non-use position.

Abstract: In at least one embodiment, a system for performing biometric evoked response monitoring and feedback for a vehicle is provided. The system includes a plurality of sensors and at least one controller. The plurality of sensors may be positioned about a main cabin of the vehicle and each sensor is configured to provide a first signal indicative of a measured electromagnetic characteristic of an anatomical feature of a driver for the vehicle in response to an alert being issued to the driver. The at least one controller is configured to receive the first signal and to determine a stimulus response and an attentiveness response of the driver based on the measured electromagnetic characteristic of the anatomical feature of the driver.
