Improved electroless or autocatalytic gold plating baths wherein the gold ingredient is a water soluble trivalent gold component selected from an alkali metal auricyanide, an alkali metal aurihydroxide, and an alkali metal aurate. The bath contains an amino borane, an alkali metal borohydride, or an alkali metal cyanoborohydride as the reducing agent; an alkaline agent such as an alkali metal hydroxide; and an alkaline buffering agent. Optionally, the bath may contain added alkali metal cyanide. The method of utilizing such electroless or autocatalytic plating bath for depositing gold on metallic substrates such as gold, copper, copper alloys, electroless copper, electroless nickel, nickel, nickel alloys, etc. and on a non-metallic substrates is also described and claimed.
Abstract:
A system and method for using multiplexed RFID transceivers and RFID tags to verify connections and communicate the connection status to a host system is provided. RFID tags that are programmed with connection specific indicia are attached at or in proximity to various connections in a pharmaceutical or biotech processing system and interrogated by remote antennas driven by a multiplexed RFID transceiver. This enables a user to verify the status of each connection and communicate the connection status to a host system.

A hose tracking system having a hose assembly with an attached RF ID tag imbedded therein during manufacture, molded thereon or permanently attached. The RF ID tag is coded with an identification specific to the particular hose assembly. An RF ID tag reader is provided, which is usable by a user to obtain the identification from the RF ID tag on the hose, preferably after it is installed at the user facility. The RF ID tag reader includes a user input for at least one trackable event and is at least one of connectable to a computer network or compatible for uploading the identification and any user input to a network accessible device. A network accessible hose database is provided, having hose-related information. The network accessible hose database provides access to a user to obtain the hose-related information based on the identification from the RF ID tag and receives and stores data related to the at least one trackable event.
Abstract:
Improved baths for the electrodeposition of ruthenium metal on various substrates. The ruthenium metal baths are formulated with a complex of ruthenium metal and sulphamic acid wherein the molar ratio is one mole of ruthenium metal and from about 4 to 10 moles of sulphamic acid. For most purposes, certain selective metals are also present in the baths, which are maintained at a pH ranging from about 1.0 to 2.2. The process for utilizing said baths to plate substrates with essentially pure ruthenium metal is also described and claimed.

A tracking system for items to be ionizing radiation sterilized is provided which utilizes an attached RF ID tag that is ionizing radiation proof or enclosed in an ionizing radiation proof holder. The RF ID tag is coded with a unique identification and certification data on the ionizing radiation sterilization. An RF ID tag reader is provided, which is usable by a user to obtain the identification and sterilization data from the RF ID tag on the item. The RF ID tag reader includes a user input for at least one trackable event and can write data based on the at least one trackable event back onto the RF ID tag. The RF ID tag reader is at least one of connectable to a PC or the internet, or is compatible for uploading the identification and any user input to an internet accessible device. A database is provided, having item related information. The database provides access to a user to obtain related information based on the identification from the RF ID tag and receives and stores data related to the at least one trackable event.

An electroless plating process for depositing gold on substrates, such as metal and metallized substrates, which involves immersing the substrates in an electroless plating bath composed of a trivalent gold complex, an organic carboxylic acid, and/or a mineral acid sufficient in amount so that the pH of the bath will range from about 0.1 to 6.0. The process of utilizing said electroless bath to deposit gold on the aforementioned substrates is also disclosed and claimed.
