    摘要: The present invention provides an optical module with an improved temperature condition surrounding an opto-electronic device. The optical module of the present invention comprises an optical sub-assembly including an opto-electronic device, a first circuit board electrically connected to the optical sub-assembly, an electronic device mounted on the first circuit board, a lower housing for mounting the first circuit board, an upper housing for covering the circuit board and electronic device, and a metal cover for covering the upper housing. Constructed in the optical module are a first heat-dissipating path for dissipating heat from the electronic device to the cover via the upper housing, and a second heat-dissipating path, different from the first heat-dissipating path, for dissipating heat from the optical sub-assembly to the cover by way of the upper housing.

    摘要: This invention provides an optical module that enables to reduce an optical coupling loss when an external force is applied to an optical connector mating with the optical module. The present optical module comprises an optical sub-assembly and an optical receptacle having a cavity for receiving the optical connector and a space for receiving the optical sub-assembly. The optical sub-assembly provides a flange in its outer surface and the head portion thereof passes through the partition wall between the cavity and the space. Between the flange of the optical sub-assembly and the partition wall of the optical receptacle provides an O-ring, whereby the head portion of the optical sub-assembly enables to displace in the cavity and automatically recovers its original position.

    摘要: The present invention provides an optical module capable of being readily dismounted from a host board while solving the problem discussed in the specification. An optical module 10 according to the present invention is an optical module 10 to be inset into a host board 40, which comprises a projection 15 formed in a housing 14 and adapted to engage with a hook 41 provided in the host board 40, and a lever 20 pivotably mounted on the housing 14 in order to disengage the hook 41 engaging with the projection 15 to release the engagement, wherein the lever 20 has a first portion 21A adapted to move with exertion of a force in a direction toward the housing 14, and a second portion 21B being adjacent to the projection 15 and adapted to move according to the movement of the first portion 21A. In this arrangement, as the first portion 21A moves with exertion of the force on the first portion 21A, the second portion 21B moves in an upheaving direction of the projection 15 to release the engagement between the hook 41 and the projection 15.

    摘要: An optical module is inserted into a cage containing a connector electrically connected to a conductive wiring on a host board. The cage, the connector and the conductive wiring is provided on the host board. The optical module includes a circuit board and a housing. The circuit board has a card edge connector at an edge thereof. The card edge connector mates with the connector on the host board. The housing has a conductive ceiling with a rear edge and builds the circuit board therein. The conductive ceiling has a stopper supported thereby and protrudes therefrom. The stopper extrudes from the edge of the circuit board and the rear edge of the conductive ceiling.

    摘要: A heat dissipating mechanism from an optical assembly to housing without stressing the assembly against the housing is disclosed. The optical assembly has a box-shaped portion to install the optical device and the heat generating device. Among six walls of the box-shaped portion, rear and one side wall are provided for the signal transmission, and two side walls continuous to each other are provided for the heat conduction. The housing forms a hollow within which the optical assembly is set such that the two side walls of the optical assembly come in thermally contact with the bottom and one side wall of the hollow.

    摘要: The present invention is to provide an intelligent pluggable transceiver improving an EMI tolerance with a simple mechanism. The optical transceiver of the invention comprises upper and lower housings (11, 12), a holder (81), optical assemblies (51, 61), a cover (14), a substrate (15) and a grip (13). The optical assemblies are fixed with the upper and lower housings together with the holder with interposing the conductive elastic member. Although the rear end of the substrate exposes outside the transceiver, the shield bracket and the ground pattern on the substrate shields the contact portion between the substrate and the upper housing and between the substrate and the cover. Moreover, the grip and the latch lever installed in the lower housing, and the elastic piece realize the latching/releasing mechanism of the transceiver with the host system.
