Abstract: Described herein are techniques, devices, and systems for formulating, tracking, displaying, and using electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) intensity values that are meaningful and intuitive. Electrical impulses may be delivered via multiple electrodes of an EMS suit in accordance with pulse intensity settings, the pulse intensity settings comprising multiple channel intensity values associated with multiple channels. Each channel intensity value can be multiplied by a predefined number to generate displayable channel intensity values, and a global intensity value can be derived from the displayable channel intensity values. The global intensity value can be presented on a display, such as by presenting the global intensity value as a graphic overlaying media content featuring an instructor conducting a workout session.

Abstract: A production environment enables the creation of media content featuring an instructor conducting a workout session, as well as the creation of command data for controlling output from a fitness apparatus. An instructor conducts a workout session while using a recording device to generate media data. Meanwhile, a computing device executes a client application to generate command data for controlling aspects of output provided by a fitness apparatus. The media data and the command data generated by the instructor can be transmitted to user computing devices over a network for consumption by users. The media data and the command data may be transmitted as a live stream while the instructor is conducting the workout session, or to be accessed on-demand by users at a later time.

Abstract: An intensity of fitness apparatus output can be customized for a user during a workout session. A user profile of the user may be accessed to determine a starting intensity value at which output is to be provided by the user's fitness apparatus. Based on this starting intensity value and on command data associated with a workout session, an intensity profile for the user may be determined (e.g., created), which is usable for controlling an intensity of the output of the fitness apparatus during the workout session. While media content featuring an instructor conducting the workout session is output on an output device, the user's device may send commands to the fitness apparatus to control the intensity of the output of the fitness apparatus in accordance with the starting intensity value and, subsequently, the intensity profile of the user.

Abstract: An electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) suit having electrodes affixed thereto is disclosed, wherein the electrodes are positioned on the EMS suit in an arrangement that prevents transthoracic flow of electrical current through a body of a user wearing the EMS suit during operation of the EMS suit. The EMS suit may include a vest portion comprising a left front portion, a right front portion, and a back portion. In some embodiments, the left front portion has a first pair of electrodes on a first channel, and the right front portion has a second pair of electrodes on a second channel. In some embodiments, the back portion has a third pair of electrodes on a third channel and positioned in a left half of the back portion, as well as a fourth pair of electrodes on a fourth channel and positioned in a left half of the back portion.
