    Abstract: An inkjet recording apparatus includes a nozzle surface, a supply port, a conveyance unit, a first moving device, a cap, a second moving device and a controller. The supply port supplies a cleaning liquid for cleaning the nozzle surface. The cap has a recessed part whose upper surface is opened and a discharge port through which the liquid dropped in the recessed part is discharged. The controller controls the first moving device to arrange the nozzle surface and the conveyance unit in a retreat position, then controls the second moving device to arrange the cap, the nozzle surface and the supply port in a covering position, then controls such that the cleaning liquid is discharged from the supply port to the cap, and then controls such that the ink is purged from the nozzle surface to the cap.

    Abstract: A fixing device includes a fixing member, a pressing member and a separating member. The fixing member is provided with a sheet passing region and a non-sheet passing region. The separating member has a separating plate and a restricting piece. The restricting piece is provided with a curving surface on a region including the contacting portion with the non-sheet passing region. The curving surface has a first curving area and a second curving area. The first curving area is provided on a downstream side from the contacting portion in a rotating direction of the fixing member. The second curving area is provided on an upstream side from the contacting portion in the rotating direction of the fixing member. The second curving area has a radius of curvature larger than that of the first curving area.

    Abstract: A medium conveying apparatus includes a drive roller, a driven roller, and a supporting portion. The drive roller includes a drive body portion and a drive contact portion. The drive contact portion is formed of a material having a smaller friction coefficient or a higher surface hardness than the drive body portion, and is formed with a groove portion along a circumferential direction. The driven roller includes a driven contact portion which comes into contact with the drive contact portion at a non-conveying position, and a plurality of protrusion portions which protrude outwardly in a radial direction. The plurality of protrusion portions are arranged in the groove portion at the non-conveying position. The drive contact portion is formed with a pair of guide portions which guide, to the groove portion, the protrusion portions of the driven roller moving from a conveying position to the non-conveying position.

    Abstract: A liquid supply unit includes a first chamber, a second chamber, an opening/closing member, a biasing member, a pressing member and a flexible film member. The first chamber communicates with a liquid storage container, and the second chamber communicates with a liquid injection head. The opening/closing member changes a posture between a closing posture for closing a communication opening and an opening posture for opening it. The biasing member biases the opening/closing member in a direction toward the closing posture. The pressing member presses the opening/closing member in a direction toward the opening posture. The flexible film member is displaced based on a negative pressure generated in the second chamber. When a pressure receiving portion of the pressing member receives the displacement force from the flexible film member, the pressing member rotates about a pivot point and presses the opening/closing member against a biasing force of the biasing member.

    Abstract: A liquid supply unit includes a first chamber, a second chamber, a wall portion, an opening/closing member, a flexible film member and a transmitting member. The wall portion includes a communication opening allowing communication between the first chamber and the second chamber. The opening/closing member changes a posture between a closing posture for closing the communication opening from the second chamber side and an opening posture. The flexible film member is displaced based on a pressure change of the second chamber. The transmitting member transmits a displacement force to the opening/closing member to be the opening posture when the second chamber is set to a negative pressure exceeding a predetermined threshold value, and transmits the displacement force to the opening/closing member to be the closing posture according to a displacement of the flexible film member when the second chamber is pressurized.

    Abstract: A head unit includes a common passage, at least one recording head, and a joint mechanism. The joint mechanism has a first valve and couples the common passage to the recording head. The first valve includes: a first stopper having a switch member with an insertion hole and an engagement boss projecting from its inner surface, a sliding portion inserted in the insertion hole slidably up and down, and an engagement groove engaged with the engagement boss; and a first sealing member fitted on the first stopper to be in contact with or away from the insertion hole's inner surface. Rotating the switch member to move the first stopper up/down causes the first valve to switch between a closed state, with the first sealing member in contact with the insertion hole's inner surface, and an open state, with the first sealing member away from the insertion hole's inner surface.
