Abstract:
An image comparison apparatus includes an image comparison portion. The image comparison portion generates a shadow target image which is an image of a portion of a shadow in a target image. The image comparison portion generates a shadow reference image corresponding to the shadow target image in a reference image. The image comparison portion matches a tone of the two shadow images. The image comparison portion generates a non-shadow target image in the target image and a non-shadow reference image in the reference image. The image comparison portion matches a tone of the two non-shadow images. The image comparison portion generates the target image from which the shadow has been removed by synthesizing the shadow target image and the non-shadow target image. The image comparison portion compares the reference image and the target image from which the shadow has been removed.
Abstract:
In an image forming apparatus, a print data acquiring unit acquires variable-data-printing print data that includes common document data and insert data. The common document data includes a common part common to plural printed matters. The insert data is for a variable part individually set for each of the plural printed matters. The common document data includes one or plural identifiers; the identifier indicates the variable part, and the insert data includes one or plural values corresponding to the identifier. The variable-data-printing processing unit causes a printing device to perform variable data printing on the basis of print data obtained by replacing the identifier in the common document data with the value. In addition, the variable-data-printing processing unit determines a print sheet corresponding to the value used in the replacement, and causes the printing device to perform the variable data printing using the determined print sheet.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes a storage medium, an operation panel, and a controller. The storage medium stores therein a paper-type profile which includes paper information and control information. When an operation to make the paper-type profile belong to a medium family has been performed, the controller attaches, to the paper-type profile, information indicating the medium family to which the paper-type profile belongs. When an operation to make the paper-type profile belong to a device family has been performed, the controller attaches, to the paper-type profile, information indicating the device family to which the selected paper-type profile belongs.
Abstract:
A method for printing a coded document includes receiving a print job, generating a document-file identifier, storing a document-file table entry into a document-file table, and printing a coded document. The document-file table entry includes the document-file identifier and the original document-file path. The coded document includes the received document-file data and the generated document-file identifier. A method for scanning a coded document includes receiving scan-document data indicative of a coded document, extracting the document-file identifier from the scan-document data, and searching a plurality of document-file table entries for the scanned document-file identifier. Each of the plurality of document-file table entries includes an entry document-file identifier and an entry document-file path, and may also include a table entry lifetime and/or a plurality of document-file variations. A pull-copy system includes an image forming apparatus, a storage unit, and a processor. The processor may perform the methods for printing and scanning a coded document.
Abstract:
The image comparison portion calculates a plurality of pixel SSIM values of a first image and a second image and a representative SSIM value which is an overall SSIM value of both images. The image comparison portion identifies one or more count target SSIM values that belong to a specific range below a first threshold value among the plurality of pixel SSIM values when the representative SSIM value is equal to or greater than the first threshold value. The image comparison portion adds up a number of pixels for each level of the one or more count target SSIM values in both images with a weight according to each level of the one or more count target SSIM values to calculate a weighted sum. The image comparison portion determines that the two images do not match when the weighted sum exceeds a second threshold value.
Abstract:
When performing on-sheet preliminary ink ejection, a control unit (a) determines a nozzle that performs the on-sheet preliminary ink ejection, (b) randomly selects on a print sheet an ejection position candidate of an ink droplet ejected from the determined nozzle, (c) determines whether the selected ejection position candidate is included by a mask area that includes a postprocessing object, (d1) if the selected ejection position candidate is not included by the mask area, sets as the selected ejection position candidate an ejection position of an ink droplet ejected from the determined nozzle, and (d2) if the selected ejection position candidate is included by the mask area, does not set as the selected ejection position candidate an ejection position of an ink droplet ejected from the determined nozzle and sets an ejection position of an ink droplet ejected from the determined nozzle outside of the mask area.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes a storage portion, a preview image generating circuit, an output image generating circuit, a data information obtaining circuit, and a display circuit. The storage portion stores image data that is an output target. The preview image generating circuit generates a preview image from the image data based on an output setting. The output image generating circuit generates an output image from the image data based on the output setting. The data information obtaining circuit obtains data information from output image data of the output image, and discards the output image data from which the data information was obtained. The display circuit displays the data information together with the preview image.

Abstract:
A portable terminal includes a storage circuit, a communication circuit, a reading instruction circuit, a target-selection accepting circuit, a scanned-image data acquiring circuit, and a combined image data generating circuit. The reading instruction circuit instructs the scanner to read the document image. The target-selection accepting circuit accepts selection of target image data from the image data inside the storage circuit. The scanned-image data acquiring circuit acquires the scanned-image data from the scanner. The scanned-image data is generated by the reading of the document image by the scanner. The combined image data generating circuit generates single combined image data with a plurality of pages by combining the scanned image data with the target image data, and acquires the combined image data instead of the scanned image data.
