Abstract: An electrostatic separator separates conductive particles from raw materials includes: a container with a raw material layer; a gas dispersion plate at the bottom of the raw material layer; at least one vibrating body in the raw material layer flush with the gas dispersion plate or above it; a fluidization gas supplier introduced from the container bottom into the raw material layer flows upward through the gas dispersion plate; an upper electrode above the raw material layer; a lower electrode in the raw material layer, the lower electrode being flush with the gas dispersion plate or above it; a power supply applies a voltage between the upper and lower electrode wherein one becomes a negative electrode, the other becomes a positive electrode, and an electric field is generated between them; and a capturer captures conductive particles that have flown out of the raw material layer surface toward the upper electrode.

Abstract: A system for measuring an in-ash unburned combustibles concentration includes: a storage that stores therein the pieces of characteristic data; and an arithmetic processor including a selector and an in-ash unburned combustibles concentration calculator. The selector selects, from among the pieces of characteristic data stored, a piece of characteristic data whose first reflected light intensity index is the same as, or similar to, the first reflected light intensity index of subject ash. By using the correlation information contained in the piece of characteristic data that has been selected, the in-ash unburned combustibles concentration calculator calculates an in-ash unburned combustibles concentration corresponding to the second reflected light intensity index of the subject ash as the in-ash unburned combustibles concentration of the subject ash.

Abstract: An electrostatic separation method includes: applying voltage between a lower electrode at a bottom portion of or in the raw material layer and an upper electrode above the raw material layer, generating an electric field between electrodes; fluidizing the raw material layer and bringing conductive particles and the lower electrode into contact in the raw material layer charging only the conductive particles wherein their polarity becomes the same as the lower electrode; generating polarity, the same as the upper electrode, by dielectric polarization on a conveyor belt downward-facing conveyance surface passing through a capture region above the raw material layer and under the upper electrode, the conveyance surface including a nonconductor; separates charged conductive particles from the raw material layer surface by electrostatic force and adhering conductive particles to the conveyor belt conveyance surface; and separating and collecting the particles from the conveyance surface that moved outside the electric field.

Abstract: A grizzly apparatus includes a plurality of grizzly bars arranged at predetermined intervals in a second direction perpendicular to a first direction which is an extension direction of center axes of the grizzly bars. Each of the plurality of grizzly bars is rotatable in a direction opposite to a direction of rotation of its adjacent grizzly bar so that a slit through which a screening target object passes and a gap through which the screening target object does not pass alternately emerge, between adjacent grizzly bars. The guide includes an outer member forming its outer shape, and has at least one guide surface inclined with respect to the second direction in such a way that the guide surface descends as the guide surface advances in the second direction toward the slit to guide the screening target object having fallen onto the guide to the slit.

Abstract: An ash discharge system has a conveyor device which transports clinker ash out of a region that is below a furnace bottom of a boiler furnace; and a separation device provided at a passage of the clinker ash from the furnace bottom to the conveyor device, the separation device including a separator which permits the clinker ash with a predetermined size or less to pass through the separator, and inhibits a large-mass clinker from passing through the separator, the large-mass clinker being the clinker ash with a size larger than the predetermined size.
