    Abstract: A device may receive, via a first message, first route information for directing network traffic for a network. The first route information may identify a media access control (MAC) route corresponding to a MAC address associated with a host device connecting to a subnet of the network. The first route information may fail to include Internet protocol (IP)/MAC binding information associated with the host device. The device may transmit a request for IP/MAC binding information associated with the host device. The device may receive a response, to the request for IP/MAC binding information, identifying the IP/MAC binding information. The device may advertise, via a second message, second route information for directing network traffic for the network based on receiving the response identifying the IP/MAC binding information. The second route information may identify the IP/MAC binding information associated with the host device.

    Abstract: A device may receive a plurality of traffic flows to be provided to a set of destination devices. The device may process the plurality of traffic flows to identify respective sets of attributes associated with the plurality of traffic flows. The device may assign one of a plurality of traffic forwarding techniques, to a first traffic flow, of the plurality of traffic flows, based on the respective sets of attributes associated with the plurality of traffic flows. The device may provide the plurality of traffic flows to the set of destination devices. The device may determine that a condition, of a set of conditions associated with the plurality of traffic flows, has been satisfied in association with providing the plurality of traffic flows to the set of destination devices. The device may perform a set of actions after determining that the condition has been satisfied.

    Abstract: In some implementations, a provider edge device associated with a link aggregation group (LAG) may maintain, according to a link aggregation control protocol (LACP), a set of links that connect the PE device to a consumer edge device. The provider edge device may determine that the provider edge device and another provider edge device associated with the LAG are not receiving link aggregation control protocol data units (LACPDUs) from the consumer edge device. The provider edge device may cause the set of links to have a maintain LAG status, which causes the provider edge device to keep up the set of links and to cease maintaining the set of links according to the LACP. The provider edge device may route, based on causing the set of links to have the maintain LAG status, one or more packets to or from the consumer edge device via the set of links.

    Abstract: A network device may generate a route advertisement that includes a media access control (MAC) address. The MAC address may correspond to a data link established between the network device and a customer edge (CE) device. The network device and the CE device may be associated with an Ethernet virtual private network (EVPN) that includes other network devices that are remote from the CE device. The network device may cause the route advertisement to be outputted over the EVPN. The route advertisement may permit the other network devices to learn that the data link is directly reachable via the MAC address, and may permit the other network devices, when configured as maintenance endpoints (MEPs), to directly address performance monitoring-related unicast packets, intended for the data link, using the MAC address, such that flooding of the performance monitoring-related unicast packets is avoided.
