The system and method input a 2-D ultrasound data set, transform the 2-D ultrasound data set into a mathematical 3-D data set, and transform the mathematical 3-D data set into an altered 2-D data set. Another preferred embodiment of the invention involves generating a mathematical surface, such that the height of the mathematical surface is based on a first component of an ultrasound signal in a 2-D ultrasound data set; mapping the mathematical surface to points on a 2-D plane; assigning a color value to each point based on a second component of the ultrasound signal; and displaying the mapped mathematical surface with the assigned color values on a 2-D display device.

    摘要: A method and system for determining the location of a region of interest throughout a sequence of images is provided. The system, in response to user input or automatically, identifies a region of interest associated with anatomy represented in an image. The data associated with the region of interest is compared with data for other or subsequent images. A maximum degree of correlation between the data associated with the region of interest and data for the subsequent image is determined. A translation and/or rotation associated with the maximum correlation determines the position of a region of interest designator in the subsequent image. The process may be repeated for a plurality of images. The same process may be used to determine the position of the designator in previous images.

    摘要: An ultrasound imaging system having an integrated touch-pad pointing device is provided. The touch-pad pointing device can be used to perform the functions currently performed by a trackball while overcoming the disadvantages commonly associated with trackballs. In addition to being integrated with the ultrasound imaging system, the touch-pad pointing device can also externally interface with the ultrasound imaging system, allowing the touch-pad pointing device to be easily added to existing ultrasound imaging systems that are not integrated with a touch-pad pointing device. Further, the touch-pad pointing device can be located on a remote user-interface device coupled with the ultrasound system to provide the further advantage of physically positioning the touch-pad pointing device closer to the user and away from the ultrasound machine.

    摘要: The preferred embodiments described herein provide a medical diagnostic ultrasound imaging system and method for transferring ultrasound examination data to a portable computing device. In one preferred embodiment, ultrasound examination data is transferred from a medical diagnostic ultrasound imaging system to a portable computing device, such as a personal digital assistant. The ultrasound examination data can be viewed on the portable computing device or further transferred to a review station or another portable computing device for review. In some preferred embodiments, the examination data is converted from a form readable by the ultrasound system to a form readable by the portable computing device or review station. The ultrasound examination data can be transferred using a wired connection or using wireless technology, such an infrared communications link. The preferred embodiments can also be used with other medical acquisition devices and medical examination data. Examination data can also be transferred from medical networks, such as a medical diagnostic ultrasound imaging network.
