    摘要: A coaxial connector is provided with a connector body coupled to a connector coupling body. A slip ring is provided within a bore of the connector coupling body. An outer conductor groove of the connector body is open to a cable end of the connector body. A contact surface is provided on an inner sidewall of the outer conductor groove. A spring contact is provided between the slip ring and the connector body and a stabilizing assembly is coupled to a cable end of the connector coupling body. The axial advance of the connector coupling body towards the connector body drives the slip ring against the coil spring to clamp a leading edge of the outer conductor inserted into the outer conductor groove against the contact surface. The stabilizing assembly grips a jacket of the coaxial cable, stabilizing the interconnection. Methods of manufacture and interconnection are also disclosed.

    摘要: A self-gauging electrical connector for coaxial cables with outer conductors of varied diameters is provided with a clamp ring coupled to a connector body with a bore. A mechanical grip and an electrical contact are retained within the bore. The mechanical grip and the electrical contact engage the outer conductor upon insertion of the outer conductor into the bore. The mechanical grip is displaced radially proportional to an outer diameter of the outer conductor. The electrical contact is displaced radial proportional to the radial displacement of the mechanical grip.

A grip ring is retained within the connector body bore, and an outer diameter of the grip ring abuts an annular wedge surface provided with a taper between a maximum diameter proximate the connector end and a minimum diameter proximate the cable end. The wedge surface may be provided directly on the connector body bore sidewall or alternatively on an inner diameter of a clamp ring coupled to the cable end of the connector body. An inner diameter of the grip ring is provided with a grip surface. A spring contact is retained within the connector body bore. The grip surface provided with a rotational interlock with the connector body directly or via an interconnection with the spring contact and/or clamp ring.

    摘要: A push-on connector interface and associated spring ring adapted for use with, for example, existing standardized threaded female connectors, for example SMA or Type N connectors. A plurality of spring fingers of the male connector body engage the, typically threaded, outer diameter surface of the female connector body. A sleeve within the male connector body may be adapted to extend within a bore of the female connector body. A spring or spring ring located, for example, positioned within a groove or press-fit upon the sleeve has a plurality of deflectable protrusions which deform between the sleeve and an inner diameter surface of the bore and or are biased against the inner diameter surface. The connections formed by the bias of spring fingers and the deformation and or bias of the spring or spring ring creating a reliable mechanical and electrical interconnection between the male and female connector bodies.

    摘要: A coaxial connector is provided with a connector body coupled to a connector coupling body. A slip ring is provided within a bore of the connector coupling body. An outer conductor groove of the connector body is open to a cable end of the connector body. A contact surface is provided on an inner sidewall of the outer conductor groove. A spring contact is provided between the slip ring and the connector body and a stabilizing assembly is coupled to a cable end of the connector coupling body. The axial advance of the connector coupling body towards the connector body drives the slip ring against the coil spring to clamp a leading edge of the outer conductor inserted into the outer conductor groove against the contact surface. The stabilizing assembly grips a jacket of the coaxial cable, stabilizing the interconnection. Methods of manufacture and interconnection are also disclosed.

    摘要: A stabilizing coupling body assembly for a coaxial connector is provided with a coupling body dimensioned to couple at a connector end of the coupling body with a cable end of the connector. A jacket grip of rigid material is retained between the coupling body and a stabilizing body coupled to a cable end of the coupling body. An outer diameter of the jacket grip abuts an annular wedge surface of the stabilizing body. The wedge surface is provided with a taper between a maximum diameter proximate a connector end of the jacket grip and a minimum diameter proximate a cable end of the annular wedge surface. The jacket grip is driven radially inward as the stabilizing body is advanced axially towards the coupling body. Methods of manufacture include forming elements of the coupling body assembly via injection molding.

    摘要: A waveguide transition for transitioning from an overmoded waveguide to another waveguide is provided, where one end of the waveguide is configured to connect to a rectangular waveguide and the other end is configured to connect to an elliptical waveguide. The transition has an internal shape having top and bottom walls and two side walls. The top and bottom walls are shaped to join smoothly with waveguides at each end of the transition, while the side walls diminish in height along the length of the transition. The waveguide transition may employ mode filtering to suppress unwanted higher modes. A method of forming waveguide components is also disclosed, involving thixoforming of components in single pieces, the components having internal shapes configured for mold core removal.

    摘要: A coupling arrangement between a coaxial connector body and an outer conductor of a coaxial cable that includes an annular contact groove provided in a bore of the connector body. The contact groove has a groove bottom, a connector end sidewall and a cable end sidewall. The connector end sidewall is angled to transition between a groove bottom width that is less than a groove top width. A spring contact has a non-deformed state width seated within the contact groove. The non-deformed state width is greater than the groove bottom width and less than the groove top width. In a non-deformed state the spring contact contacts the connector end sidewall, without contacting the groove bottom.
