    摘要: A platform lift apparatus moves objects vertically within a structure such as between floors of a residential or commercial structure. A drive train comprises a rotatable shaft having plural lift drums and a motor operatively coupled to the shaft to cause selective rotation thereof. Each of the lift drums has an associated lift tether coupled thereto and wound thereon. A platform is coupled to respective ends of the lift tethers to suspend the platform from the platform receiving portion of the main body. The platform is selectively movable by operation of the drive train to travel vertically relative to the main body and is substantially nested within the platform receiving portion when at an uppermost point of travel. At least one load sensor is operatively coupled to at least one of the lift tethers to provide a load signal corresponding to load on the associated one of the lift tethers.

    摘要: A platform lift system includes a mounting frame that is fixedly engaged into a scuttle hole formed in a horizontal supporting surface (i.e., attic floor or room ceiling) and a foldable ladder that is supported by the frame. A separate trolley carries a lift platform that may be selectively raised or lowered in order to transport objects to/from the attic space. The trolley is moveable horizontally along a track that may be provided on a floor of the attic space. At a first end of travel of the trolley along the track, the trolley is disposed laterally alongside and vertically offset from the mounting frame such that the space above the mounting frame is unimpeded to permit a user to access the attic space using the deployed ladder. At a second end of travel of the trolley along the track, the trolley is aligned vertically with the mounting frame to permit use of the lift platform. The trolley further includes a drive system that controls the movement of a plurality of lift tethers that are coupled to the platform. The platform is raised by withdrawing the lift tethers, and is lowered by paying out the lift tethers. The ladder further includes a track that provides a guide for movement of a lift platform.

    摘要: A radial vane rotary engine comprises an outer housing having a inner cam surface, and an inner housing disposed within the outer housing and having a outer cam surface. There is a substantially constant radial distance between the inner and outer cam surfaces. A rotatable rotor is disposed between the inner and outer housings. The rotor is generally cylindrical having an outer surface, an inner surface, a plurality of axial slots opening between the outer and inner surfaces, and an output shaft extending axially from an end portion of the rotor. A plurality of vanes extend radially through the slots between the inner and outer cam surfaces, providing a plurality of outer chambers between the adjacent vanes, the inner cam surface and the outer surface of the rotor. Similarly, a plurality of inner chambers are provided between the adjacent vanes, the inner cam surface and the inner surface of the rotor. The inner and outer cam surfaces are shaped to produce intake, compression, expansion and exhaust states within the inner and outer chambers during a single rotation of the output shaft. The radial vane rotary engine can be adapted to provide bottoming cycle operation to increase fuel efficiency of conventional engines, heat pump operation to replace environmentally damaging refrigerants, air compressor and/or expander operation, and turbocharger operation to increase engine efficiency and power.
