    摘要： This invention relates to a process for producing a filter for cigarettes and the like comprising providing a quantity of human hair, depositing the hair in an aqueous solution of sodium bicarbonate, boiling the solution containing the hair, cooling the solution, removing the hair from the solution, and drying the hair and using the thus treated hair as a filter material. Also, the disclosure relates to the filter produced by this process.
