Abstract:
A method of deriving audio content from visual content can include modifying a visual markup language document requested by a client computer system to specify a control for generating an audio markup language document version of the visual markup language document. The modified visual markup language document can be provided to the client computer system. Responsive to a selection of the control, an audio markup language document version of the visual markup language document can be generated. The audio markup language document can be saved for subsequent presentation through an audio interface.
Abstract:
A method for providing customized interactive voice response menus can include monitoring user interactions with an interactive voice response system. Data concerning the user interactions can be stored. A request to initiate an interactive voice response session can be received. The interactive voice response system can determine an identity for a user making the request. The interactive voice response system can generate a customized menu for the user. At least a portion of the customized menu can be based upon the usage data. The customized menu can be presented to the user.
Abstract:
A method and machine readable storage for adding a simple network management protocol (SNMP) interface to an existing resource management extension-enabled management agent. The SNMP interface can be added without modifying the management agent. The method includes the step of reading definitions of managed objects associated with said management agent. The definitions can be read at runtime of the management agent. A SNMP management information base (MIB) definition is automatically generated. The SNMP MIB provides a SNMP representation of the management agent and incorporates SNMP object definitions correlating to at least a portion of read managed object definitions.
Abstract:
Using a portable device, a method of conducting commerce can include executing within the portable device an application configured to communicate with an automated teller machine by displaying graphic symbols. A user input specifying transaction information which can include at least a personal identification code for a transaction can be received. The method further can include generating a graphic symbol specifying the transaction information and displaying the graphic symbol upon a display screen of the portable device. Accordingly, a graphic symbol reader of an automated teller machine can read the graphic symbol and process the transaction.
Abstract:
A method and machine readable storage for facilitating communications between a user and an interactive voice response (IVR) application. The method includes the step of configuring to be displayed on a wireless communications device having a graphical user interface (GUI) at least one menu which includes user selectable options correlating to available IVR options. Responsive to a communications link being established between the wireless communications device and the IVR application, the menu is forwarded to the wireless communications device for presentation to the user on the GUI. A user selection is received via the GUI and an IVR operation is performed corresponding to the menu selection.
Abstract:
A method for receiving and presenting interactive voice response data can include sending a telephony connectivity request for establishing a voice channel connection between an originating device and a interactive voice response system. Prior to establishing the voice channel connection, an interactive voice response menu associated with said interactive voice response system can be received via a ringback channel. At least a portion the interactive voice response menu can be presented to a user of the originating device.
Abstract:
A method of automatically providing information from a portable computing device to a bar code reader can include, within the portable computing device, automatically detecting a scan from the bar code reader. Responsive to the automatic detection of the scan, one or more segments of a visual image can be presented on a display screen of the portable computing device.
Abstract:
A system for presenting telecommunication services to potential customers can include a distributed, platform independent registry disposed within a publicly accessible network. The registry can include a plurality of entries, each entry specifying at least one telecommunication service, wherein selective ones of the telecommunication services can be provided by two or more providers. Each entry can further contain connectivity information for contacting an associated one of the providers across a publicly accessible network in order to obtain the telecom service from the provider. Each of the telecommunication services can be configured to function within multiple switch environments.
Abstract:
A system and method for receiving and processing specialized voice commands during a conference call. Users issue vocal commands to retrieve information during the live conference or during later playback. A user may issue these commands by voice or by sending data through the user's device. A user may issue a command to find the latest spoken name in the conference or for determining which participant said something. The name may be replayed to the user or at the user's request the name may be accompanied by additional information by searching particular databases. The users may also issue other commands requesting information such as the latest spoken word indicating location, the latest spoken word indicating time, the latest spoken word indicating method, etc. Information can also be retrieved from networks, such as the Internet, in response to the voice commands.
Abstract:
A method of implementing a telephony service in a Transaction Capability Application Part (TCAP) processing system can include receiving a TCAP event from a signaling network and matching the received TCAP event to a TCAP markup language script implementation of a telephony service. The TCAP markup language script can be retrieved from a data store. The TCAP event can be processed in accordance with the TCAP markup language script to implement the telephony service.
