Abstract: A method for using a roulette mechanism where a ball is launched onto a rim having a central opening and a face around which balls travel until falling pockets distributed around a central cone. The pockets are configured hold the balls. The pockets correspond to unique identifiers on the roulette wheel. The cone includes an edge, sub-pockets under the edge and a motor. The edge stops a ball in a pocket. The motor raises and lowers the edge so that ball move from a pocket to the sub-pocket. When a ball falls into a pocket the ball is moved to a sub-pocket. The outcome for the ball is indicated based on the pocket and then more balls are launched while the ball is in the sub-pocket.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for operating roulette games. Bet information may be acquired from user input provided at a graphical user interface. The bet information may include a wager associated with a first set of symbols. A first roulette ball and a second roulette ball may be asynchronously launched on a roulette wheel. A first symbol associated with a final position of the first roulette ball may determined, and the ball is stored in a sub-pocket beneath a central cone of the roulette wheel prior to the second ball reaching a final position. A second symbol associated with the final position of the second roulette ball may be determined. An animation indicative of a payout based on the bet information, the first symbol, and the second symbol may be provided on the graphical user interface.

Abstract: A ball launch system and roulette gaming methods are disclosed herein. A launch system may include an electromagnetic coil including a plurality of windings around a ball path, a magnetic piston configured to travel along the ball path, and a control system. The control system may receive a launch signal from a roulette gaming device and sequentially activate a first winding and a second winding of the electromagnetic coil to accelerate the magnetic piston from a start position. The magnetic piston may launch a roulette ball positioned within the ball path through an exit point of the ball path at a timing and a speed associated with the launch signal.

Abstract: A roulette mechanism having a base, a stationary rim mounted on the base having a central opening and a curved face around which roulette balls travel, a rotating roulette wheel configured to spin and positioned in the central opening of the and supported by the base. The roulette wheel includes a movable central cone and pockets distributed around the movable central cone, the pockets hold one or more roulette balls that fall from the rim into pockets. Each pocket corresponds to unique identifiers on the roulette wheel. The cone includes an edge, a number of sub-pockets under the edge and a motor. The edge is configured to stop a roulette ball that has entered a pocket. The motor is configured to raise the edge so that the roulette ball moves from the pocket to the sub-pocket and to lower the edge once the roulette ball is in the sub-pocket.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for operating roulette games. A betting interface on a player station may include a first betting layout to receive a bet corresponding to a first roulette game, and a second betting layout to receive a bet corresponding to a second roulette game. A timing of a first betting window and a second window may be alternated so that the first betting window enables a bet acquisition corresponding to a round of a first roulette game, and the second betting window enables a bet acquisition corresponding to a round of the second roulette game. A first roulette ball, corresponding to a round of the first roulette game may be launched when the second betting window is open, and a second roulette ball, corresponding to a round of the second roulette game may be launched when the first betting window is open for a new round.
