Abstract:
Disclosed are a touch gesture recognition apparatus and method that can be, or applied to, both a single-touch system and a multi-touch system. The touch gesture recognition method recognizes touch gestures using the diagonal-line length of a bounding box created based on touch location information and variations in the diagonal-line length. After a gesture is recognized, the recognized gesture is mapped to an input event of a user input device and feedback according to the input event is provided.
Abstract:
A virtual object control method is provided. The virtual object control method includes selecting a gesture to control a virtual object on the basis of motion information of a virtual object control unit. The gesture is related to a user's action to operate the virtual object control unit, and appropriately selected so that a user can intuitively and remotely control the virtual object. Selection criteria may be varied depending on the motion information including at least one of a pointing position, the number of pointed to points, a moving type for the virtual object control unit, and a moving position for the virtual object control unit acquired based on the position information.
Abstract:
An apparatus detecting a proximity touch efficiently identifies a gesture which a user uses in the user's daily life and performs an operation corresponding to the gesture. The apparatus detects a proximity touch of an object and generates a detection signal. The apparatus generates detection information including three-dimensional positional information about the object using the detection signal and generates tracking information by tracking the detection information. The apparatus identifies a gesture corresponding to the tracking information by retrieving the gesture from a storage unit and executes an operation corresponding to the gesture.
