Abstract: This application provides a packet transmission method and apparatus. The method includes: receiving, by a first transmission device, a first VXLAN packet sent by a first service device through a first virtual extensible local area network VXLAN tunnel; determining, by the first transmission device, first egress information corresponding to a first BD and a first destination media access control MAC address, based on a correspondence between the first BD, the first destination MAC address, and the first egress information; generating, by the first transmission device, a second VXLAN packet based on the first VXLAN packet and the first egress information, where the second VXLAN packet includes a second VNI and an Ethernet frame; and sending, by the first transmission device sends the second VXLAN packet to a second transmission device through a second VXLAN tunnel. This application facilitates more flexible packet transmission.

Abstract: This application discloses a packet processing method that is applied to an EVPN, where the EVPN includes a first network device and a second network device. The method includes: receiving, by the first network device, a VXLAN packet sent by the second network device, where the VXLAN packet includes a path identifier and a service packet, the path identifier indicates a path from the first network device to a VNF device through an IPU, and the service packet includes a destination IP address; determining, by the first network device based on the path identifier, first routing information; and forwarding, by the first network device, the service packet to the VNF device via the IPU based on the first routing information and the destination IP address.

Abstract: A multichassis link aggregation method includes receiving, by a first network device, n pieces of second information of n second network devices. The first network device and the n second network devices are in a multichassis link aggregation group (MC-LAG), n is an integer greater than or equal to 1, the n pieces of second information include n second port keys, and the n pieces of second information are in one-to-one correspondence with the n second port keys. The method also includes determining, by the first network device, a third port key based on a first port key of the first network device and the n second port keys. The third port key is an MC-LAG configuration parameter of the first network device.

Abstract: A packet processing method includes sending, by the first provider edge (PE) device, a Media Access Control (MAC) entry update packet to a third PE device when a port of a first PE device that is connected to a customer edge (CE) device is switched from an activated state to a deactivated state, wherein the MAC entry update packet is sent to trigger the third PE device to delete a first MAC entry whose packet forwarding destination address is the first PE device, generating, through learning, a second MAC entry whose packet forwarding destination address is a second PE device, and forwarding a packet based on the second MAC entry.
