Abstract: This application discloses a route advertisement method and a related device. To reduce IP address resources and reduce configuration and maintenance costs of a network device, it is not required that all network devices in a network enable an IPV4/IPv6 dual-stack function, and the network device in the network may enable only an IPV4 or IPv6 single-stack function to bear IPv4 and IPv6 services. A route advertisement packet advertised by the network device and used to advertise an IPv4 route can include routing information corresponding to an IPV6 address, or a route advertisement packet used to advertise an IPV6 route can include routing information corresponding to an IPv4 address.

Abstract: A first network device includes a processor and a memory having instructions stored thereon that, when executed by the processor, cause the first network device to: obtain a first virtual private network (VPN) route sent by a second network device. The first VPN route includes first identification information that uniquely identifies a first VPN instance in the second network device. The first network device is also caused to generate a second VPN route according to a second VPN instance accessing a third network device and the first VPN route. The second identification information uniquely identifies the second VPN instance in the third network device. The first identification information is different from the second identification information. The first network device is further caused to send the second VPN route to the third network device.

Abstract: A transmit device may generate a first part and a second part that are used to advertise a plurality of pieces of network layer reachable information (NLRI) of pieces of destination end information.
