    Abstract: Example authentication methods, devices, and systems are provided, where those example can be used to verify validity of access location information of a next generation-residential gateway (NG-RG) in a fixed-mobile convergence architecture. One example method includes a network device receiving first link information that is used to represent an access location of a residential gateway, and the network device obtaining second link information of the residential gateway.     Abstract: An FPGA upgrade method is provided, including: delivering, by a host, an upgrade instruction to an FPGA; uninstalling a PCIe driver corresponding to the FPGA to let a status of the PCIe link be changed to link down; continuously monitoring, in a first expiration time, whether the status of the PCIe link is changed to link up; and if yes, reloading the PCIe driver. The method further includes: after the FPGA receives the upgrade instruction, continuously monitoring, in a second expiration time, whether the status of the PCIe link is changed to link down, if yes, loading the configuration data from the FPGA configuration memory for upgrade; and after upgrade is completed, negotiating, by the FPGA, with the host to restore the status of the PCIe link to link up that is used for reloading the PCIe driver upon detection by the host.

A session management network element receives a request for end-to-end communication and obtains a security policy, where the security policy is determined based on at least one of: a user security requirement that is of the user equipment and that is preconfigured on a home subscriber server, a service security requirement from the user equipment, a security capability requirement supported by the user equipment, a security capability requirement from a carrier network, and a security requirement of a device on the other end of the end-to-end communication. The session management network element obtains a protection key used for protecting the end-to-end communication. The session management network element sends the security policy to the devices on two ends of the end-to-end communication.
