Abstract: A portable terminal according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: a front surface cover; a pressure detecting unit disposed on a side surface part of the portable terminal and configured to detect a touch pressure applied to the side surface part; and a side surface touch detecting unit configured to detect a touch input on to the side surface part of the portable terminal, wherein the side surface part includes a first region and a second region separate from the first region, the pressure detecting unit is disposed in the first region of the side surface part, and at least a portion of the side touch detecting unit is disposed between a lower portion of the front surface cover and the second region.

Abstract: A touch sensor minimizing the total number of channels for the touch sensor and a width of a bezel. The touch input device having a portrait shape in which a vertical length is greater than a horizontal length according to an embodiment includes: a touch sensor including a plurality of first electrodes arranged in the vertical direction and a plurality of second electrodes arranged in the horizontal direction; and a control unit electrically connected to the plurality of first electrodes and the plurality of second electrodes to control the touch sensor. The second electrode includes a pair of electrodes, one of the pair of electrodes of the second electrode is disposed adjacent to at least one electrode of the plurality of first electrodes, and the other of the pair of electrodes of the second electrode is disposed adjacent to at least one remaining electrode of the plurality of first electrodes.
