    Abstract: A sensor calibration method is disclosed. The method includes applying thermal energy to a fabrication chamber of an additive manufacturing apparatus to raise a temperature of a surface within the fabrication chamber to a first surface temperature; measuring, using a first sensor to be calibrated, the first surface temperature; measuring, using a second sensor, the first surface temperature; applying thermal energy to the fabrication chamber to raise a temperature of the surface to a second surface temperature; measuring, using the first sensor, the second surface temperature; measuring, using the second sensor, the second surface temperature; determining, using a processor, based on the first and second surface temperatures measured using the first sensor and on the first and second surface temperatures measured using the second sensor, an offset calibration to be applied to measurements obtained using the first sensor; and applying the offset calibration to measurements obtained using the first sensor. An additive manufacturing apparatus and a machine-readable medium are also disclosed.

    Abstract: A non-transitory machine-readable storage medium storing instructions executable a processor is described. In some examples, the instructions cause the processor to receive object data representing an object to be manufactured by an additive manufacturing process. The object data comprises data representing a plurality of planar surfaces of the object. The object data is processed to determine, for each of the plurality of planar surfaces, an angle between the respective planar surface and a plane of a reference surface of an additive manufacturing apparatus. A manufacturing orientation of the object is selected on the basis of the angles determined for the plurality of planar surfaces and a further property of the object different to the determined angles.

    Abstract: A 3D printer is disclosed herein. The 3D printer comprises a build material distributor, an agent delivery device and a controller. The controller obtains slice image data of a sliced virtual build volume including a 3D object to be generated, where the slice image data is indicative, for each slice, of the portions of corresponding build material layers to be solidified. The controller is to determine print data corresponding to each slice, the print data defining a density of printing agent to be applied to regions of each layer based on the slice image data; and to obtain additional data relating to a portion of a slice that corresponds to a sloped portion of the 3D object. The controller is further to modify the determined print data to modify the density of printing agent to be printed at a portion of a given build material layer based on the additional data. The controller is also to control the build material distributor to generate a build material layer; and the agent delivery device to selectively eject the printing agent based on the modified print data.

    Abstract: A computer-implemented method is disclosed. The method comprises receiving object data relating to a three-dimensional object generated or to be generated using an additive manufacturing apparatus, the object data including details of an aperture in a surface of the three-dimensional object; determining, based on the object data, design data for a jig to engage the object and to form a fluid communication channel between the aperture in the surface of the three-dimensional object and an interface of an airflow control mechanism, the airflow control mechanism to cause a flow of air through the aperture; and providing the design data for delivery to an additive manufacturing apparatus to generate the jig. A jig is also disclosed.
