Abstract: The present invention relates to a technology for managing discontinuous reception (DRX). DRX cycles of different cycle lengths are configured according to service types of UE. If it is identified that the user equipment (UE) initiates a voice service, a relatively short first long DRX cycle is configured for the UE or the UE is instructed to deactivate DRX; and if it is identified that the UE does not perform a voice service, a relatively long second long DRX cycle is configured for the UE. The UE performs corresponding receiver on/off control according to the configured long DRX cycle, so as to receive downlink data or hibernate. According to the solution provided in the present invention, a DRX cycle of UE can be flexibly configured, so that a better balance between power consumption reduction of the UE and user experience improvement can be achieved.

Abstract: A communication method and a terminal device are provided. The communication method includes: receiving, by a network device of a first communications standard, a suspension notification message sent by a terminal device, where the suspension notification message is used to notify that the terminal device is to leave a network of the first communications standard to listen to a network of a second communications standard, the network of the first communications standard carries data services, and the network of the second communications standard carries voice services; and suspending, by the network device according to the suspension notification message, sending scheduling information to the terminal device, and suspending detecting measurement information sent by the terminal device. The communication method, the network device, and the terminal device that are provided in the present disclosure can be used to save scheduling resources and avoid detection of an incorrect measurement quantity.

Abstract: A quantity of antennas included in the antenna assembly is greater than a quantity of receive antennas supported by customer premises equipment (CPE). Therefore, when a network changes, the CPE may select, from a plurality of antennas included in the antenna assembly, a quantity of antennas with relatively good data transmission performance as receive antennas, where the quantity is the same as the quantity of receive antennas supported by the CPE. That is, the CPE may not need to adjust directions of antennas, but select, from a redundant quantity of set antennas, antennas with relatively good receiving performance to ensure that the CPE is aligned with a direction with relatively good signal quality.
