    Abstract: An ink composition includes colorant, co-solvent system, acid (e.g., oleic, linoleic, undecanoic, dodecanoic, and/or tridecanoic acids), lithium, polymer as binder, and water. The co-solvent system is selected from i) from ˜9 to ˜25 wt % of sulfolane with no other co-solvent, ii) hydroxylated co-solvent, from ˜4 to ˜16 wt % of sulfolane, and at least 8 wt % of another non-hy-droxylated co-solvent; iii) hydroxylated co-solvent, from ˜7 to ˜16 wt % of sulfolane, and at least 3 wt % of the other non-hydroxylated co-solvent; and iv) a hydroxylated co-solvent and from ˜9 wt % to ˜16 wt % of sulfolane. When i) or ii) or iv) is used, at least 0.15 wt % acid and at least 200 ppm lithium are included; or when iii) is used, at least 0.25 wt % acid and at least 100 ppm lithium are included; or when iii) is used, at least 0.15 wt % acid and at least 150 ppm lithium are included.

    Abstract: In an example of recording medium identification method, a digital image of a line or a dot printed on a recording medium with a printer is captured by an image sensor. From the digital image, a microprocessor (operatively connected to the image sensor), digitally measures a width of the line, a diameter of the dot, an area of the dot, or a perimeter of the dot. The microprocessor identifies a type of the recording medium based on the width, the diameter, the area, or the perimeter. In response to the identification of the type of the recording medium, a print setting for the type of the recording medium is selected.

    Abstract: The present disclosure is drawn to a pigment-based inkjet ink and methods. The inkjet ink includes water; from 2 wt % to 9 wt % pigment solids; from 0.05 wt % to 2 wt % of an acetylenic diol non-ionic surfactant; from 0.05 wt % to 2 wt % of a second surfactant. The second surfactant can be a polysorbate having at least 50% lipophilic oleic acid groups and having an HLB value of less than 15, or a C12-C18 polyoxyethylene glycol ether having an ethylene oxide number less than 20, or a perfluoropolyether including a polyethylene glycol primary alcohol or diol. The inkjet ink also includes from 5 wt % to 50 wt % of an organic solvent system comprising triethylene glycol and a cyclic amide.
