Abstract: Apparatus for continuous cooling of iron sinter and other hot material in bulk comprising a base part, at least two annular troughs supported on the base part for rotary motion about a vertical axis, said troughs being superimposed one above the other, each trough being open at the top and bottom to permit of introduction and flow through of material be discharge from the bottom thereof, and having a downwardly tapering section, means for introduction of material into the upper trough from which it passes into the lower trough to discharge therefrom and means for injecting cooling medium into the bed of material in each trough.
