Abstract: A fiber structure includes first and second optical fibers disposed such that end portions thereof butt, a sheet-shaped saturable absorber including a carbon nanotube and disposed between the end portion of the first optical fiber and the end portion of the second optical fiber, and a housing internally accommodating the end portion of the first optical fiber and the end portion of the second optical fiber. A space in the housing including the saturable absorber is airtight.

The first optical element and the second optical element are optically connectable via the first fiber connector and the second fiber connector, a first opening is formed in a wall portion of the housing, the first orientation is an orientation when the first optical element and the second optical element are optically connected, and the second orientation is an orientation in which an end surface of the second fiber is exposed through the first opening.

Abstract: A fiber structure includes first and second optical fibers disposed such that tip portions thereof butt and a sheet-shaped saturable absorber sandwiched between the tip portion of the first optical fiber and the tip portion of the second optical fiber. Each of the tip portions of the first optical fiber and the second optical fiber has a core, a cladding provided around the core, and a ferrule provided around the cladding. The tip portion of the first optical fiber has a protruding shape protruding to a tip side. The saturable absorber has an adhering part at least adhering to the core of the first optical fiber and a non-adhering part present around the adhering part and not adhering to the tip portion of the first optical fiber.

Abstract: A light source device includes: a fiber laser including an excitation light source and configured to output pulsed light generated according to excitation light from the excitation light source; a fiber amplifier configured to receive the pulsed light output from the fiber laser, amplify the pulsed light, and output the amplified pulsed light, a wavelength shift fiber configured to receive the pulsed light output from the fiber amplifier, shift a wavelength of the pulsed light, and output the pulsed light; an output fiber configured to receive the pulsed light output from the wavelength shift fiber, and output the pulsed light to an outside; a light detection element configured to detect, in the output fiber, the pulsed light having passed through at least the wavelength shift fiber; and a control unit configured to control a drive current of the excitation light source.
