Abstract: A head-mounted device (HMD) can be configured to determine a request for recognizing at least one content item included within content framed within a display of the HMD. The HMD can be configured to initiate a head-tracking process that maintains a coordinate system with respect to the content, and a pointer-tracking process that tracks a pointer that is visible together with the content within the display. The HMD can be configured to capture a first image of the content and a second image of the content, the second image including the pointer. The HMD can be configured to map a location of the pointer within the second image to a corresponding image location within the first image, using the coordinate system, and provide the at least one content item from the corresponding image location.

Abstract: A head-mounted device (HMD) can be configured to determine a request for recognizing at least one content item included within content framed within a display of the HMD. Abstract: Systems, devices, and apparatuses for a switchable augmented reality and virtual reality device are provided. An example device includes a handle, a device chamber, a viewport assembly, and a hinge assembly. The handle may be formed from folded sheets of material. The example device chamber is coupled to the handle and formed from folded sheets of material. The viewport assembly may be formed at least in part from folded sheets of material. The example hinge assembly pivotably couples the device chamber to the viewport assembly. For example, the hinge assembly may be operable to adjust the device between a virtual reality configuration and an augmented reality configuration. A display of a computing device held in the device chamber may be viewable through the viewport assembly in the virtual reality configuration and the display may be viewable without the viewport assembly in the augmented reality configuration.

Abstract: A computer-implemented technique can include establishing, between a computing device and a mobile computing device, a short-range wireless communication link. In response to establishing the communication link, the computing device can provide a selectable option for a user to attach a media item to an electronic document accessed by the computing device. In response to a user selection of the selectable option, the computing device can transmit, to the mobile computing device via the communication link, a command, wherein receipt of the command causes the mobile computing device to initiate a media capture mode. The computing device can then receive, from the mobile computing device via the communication link, the captured media item and, in response to receiving the captured media item, the computing device can attach the captured media item to the electronic document.
