Abstract: A method for making the core of a door of autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC). A billet of AAC is provided from which slabs are cut to the approximate dimensions of the door core. A reinforcing band is secured about the perimeter of a slab. The thickness of the slab is then sized for the door core as by sanding. The door is finished by applying skins to the core surfaces and trim to the reinforcing band.
