Abstract: A surgical device for cutting bone or tissue in a patient can include a cutting blade having a rigid portion, a flexible portion, and a liner to provide a seal to the flexible portion. The blade has an outer member and an inner member disposed within a lumen of the outer member. The inner member has a rigid portion and a flexible portion. The liner can be disposed within a lumen of the inner member and can engage the rigid portion such as to retain the liner adjacent to the flexible portion of the inner member.

Abstract: A device having a hub assembly and a lever coupled with the hub assembly is provided. The device includes a sheath coupled with the lever and extending from the hub assembly. The sheath has a surgical elevator with a surgical elevator edge along with a hypotube having an access hole. The device has a shaver blade assembly with an outer shaft having an outer blade and an inner blade within the outer blade. The outer shaft has a stop and an access hole near the outer and inner blades. The sheath partially surrounds the outer shaft and the lever moves between a first position and a second position. In the first position, the surgical elevator edge abuts the outer shaft stop and the outer shaft access hole aligns with the hypotube access hole. In the second position, the surgical elevator edge is spaced apart from the outer shaft stop.

Abstract: A debrider or other medical device can include an extendable and retractable stylet to ream or unclog a working lumen, a distal portal, or the like. The device can include an elongate tubular body with a proximal and a distal portion. A working lumen can extend from a proximal working lumen portal at the proximal portion of the tubular body to a distal working lumen portal at the distal portion of the tubular body. The device can also include an auxiliary passage, interconnected to the working lumen of the tubular body at an auxiliary lumen portal located between the proximal working lumen portal and the distal working lumen portal. A spoolable or otherwise extendable and retractable stylet can include at least a portion of the stylet being extendable into the working lumen and toward the distal working lumen portal via the auxiliary lumen portal, and the stylet being retractable from the working lumen via the auxiliary lumen portal.
