摘要： A machine is operated cyclically to apply control elements, especially staples, in successive columns of a control card at various positions in the respective columns, to represent analog input signals. Columns can be skipped automatically. The card is adjusted along any given column in relation to the stapling head by an AC servosystem that compares the peaks of an AC feedback signal to the peaks of each AC input signal whose value is to be represented by the position of the control element along the column.
