Abstract: The invention provides a wind turbine blade having a Radar Absorbing Material (RAM) and a lightning protection system arranged for guaranteeing the performance of the lightning protection system and the integrity of the RAM. The lightning protection system has lightning receptors located at a tip region and one or two down-conductors disposed inside of the wind turbine blade for driving lightning current to ground. The RAM covers the entire wind turbine blade except the tip region and has at least a functional layer and a reflector layer connected to the one or two down conductors by means of auxiliary cables.

Abstract: The invention provides a lightning protection system for a wind turbine blade (10), whose structure comprises two structural shells (11, 13) with two caps (19, 21) formed by carbon fiber laminates and two spars (15, 17). In addition to a first subsystem formed by one or more lightning receptors connected to one or two conductor cables the lightning protection system comprises a second subsystem formed by lateral lightning receptors (30, 31) arranged at the leading and trailing edges of the wind turbine blade (10) in at least two cross sections (22, 23) of it connected with the caps (19, 21) and connecting means between the two subsystems for equipotentializing the lightning protection system.

Abstract: The invention provides a lightning protection system for wind turbine blades with optimized injection means of lightning currents in conductive components of their shells. The injection means comprise a current receptor element (27; 47; 67) connected to the input cable of lightning currents and arranged over an area of a shell close to an electrically conductive component (22; 42; 62) and a current injection element (28; 48; 68; 69, 69′) arranged over the electrically conductive component (22; 42; 62) and connected to the current receptor element (27; 47; 67) by at least two distribution cables (31, 32; 51, 52, 53; 71, 72, 73, 74).

Abstract: A lightning protection system for a wind turbine blade with one or two carbon fiber laminates and one or more down conductors equipotentialized with them by one or more auxiliary cables comprising at least one local lightning current injection area in the carbon fiber laminates associated with one auxiliary cable having secondary cables derived from the auxiliary cable and connected to conductive devices embedded in the carbon fiber laminates which are configured for avoiding overcurrents in the carbon fiber laminates. The invention also provides a lightning protection system for achieving a balanced distribution of currents and voltages between the down conductors and the carbon fiber laminates.

Abstract: A lightning current transmission system in a wind turbine between a metal band located at the root of each blade and a metal ring located at the nacelle through a lightning current transmission element comprising a conductive portion, an insulating portion and a supporting unit to be joined to the rotor hub. The metal band and the metal ring are configured with protruding parts extended towards the lightning current transmission element. The conductive portion of the lightning current transmission element comprises first and second receptors mounted on a base plate at different heights and oriented in a direction pointing, respectively, to the protruding parts of the metal band and the metal ring.
