Abstract: A radiation irradiation apparatus that is configured to independently travel from a decubitus table on which a subject can be placed, the radiation irradiation apparatus including: an attachment portion that allows the radiation irradiation apparatus to be attached to and detached from the decubitus table; a radiation irradiation portion capable of emitting radiation to the subject; a holding portion that is provided at a distal end portion thereof with the radiation irradiation portion and that holds the radiation irradiation portion to be displaceable; and a restriction mechanism that restricts displacement of the holding portion, in which the radiation irradiation apparatus is attached to the decubitus table through the attachment portion to release restriction of the displacement in the restriction mechanism.

The panel unit includes, a panel that detects radiation, a panel base portion that supports the panel and includes a panel traveling mechanism for performing a traveling movement, and a second detection unit provided at the panel base portion. The radiation source base portion and the panel base portion have a common shape. The processor controls a relative position or posture of the radiation source unit and the panel unit on the basis detection results of the first detection unit or the second detection unit.
