    摘要: An apparatus and method for deploying a payload at a location are provided. The apparatus includes a mount adapted to be attached to a mobile unit while allowing normal operation of the mobile unit, and a deployment mechanism. The deployment mechanism supports a payload securing mode in which the deployment mechanism secures the payload to the mount and a payload deployment mode in which the deployment mechanism causes the payload to be ejected from the mount. The deployment mechanism is adapted to transition from the payload securing mode to the payload deployment mode in response to a control signal. The deployment mechanism includes a securing means adapted for securing the payload to the mount, an ejecting means adapted for ejecting the payload from the mount, and a breaking means adapted for breaking the securing means in response to a control signal, thereby causing the ejecting means to eject the payload from the mount.

    摘要: A channel sounding system employs orthogonal sequences to meet the Cramer-Rao bound in estimating the channel and achieves considerable simplification of the structure necessary to perform the channel sounding. These advantages are achieved by developing orthogonal sequences of substantially arbitrary length as a function of first and second existing orthogonal sequences and using such orthogonal sequences for channel sounding in lieu of M-sequences. The techniques of the invention are especially suited to systems that use multiple antennas at the transmitter and multiple antennas at the receiver, so called multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems.

    摘要: An original symbol rate of a transmitted modem signal which has been demodulated for digital transmission is recovered at a network receiver by obtaining an estimate of error between the original transmitted symbol rate and a known nominal symbol rate. This is realized at the network receiver by measuring an interval between blocks of data in a received signal having other than a known nominal number of data bits. This is achieved because each of the blocks of data is of a known fixed interval. The measured interval is proportional to the desired error estimate. The error estimate is then integrated and employed in an interpolator to adjust the symbol rate of a remodulated modem signal at the network receiver.

    摘要: In the non-invasive measuring system, a wireless communication device or other sensing device, gathers Doppler information from signals transmitted by the wireless communication or sensing device and reflected off of a target subject. The gathered information is transferred, preferably, over the existing communication network infra-structure to a presentation device. By placing a body sensor on the target subject, the return of the signal reflected from the subject is enhanced and/or additional information is modulated onto the return signal.
