The preprocessing apparatus may include an image acquisition controller to compare a received filmed image and a pre-registered background image, and update the pre-registered background image based on whether light is changed; a Modified Census Transform (MCT) transformer to transform the pre-registered background image or the updated background image through an MCT method to generate an MCT background image, and transform the received filmed image through the MCT method to generate an MCT filmed image; and a difference image processor to differentiate the MCT filmed image and the MCT background image to generate a difference image.

Provided are an analysis method and system for audience rating and advertisement effects based on viewing behavior recognition including a method of recognizing a viewer on the basis of image recognition through a camera and efficiently collecting data and a method of transmitting collected data on the basis of viewer recognition to an audience rating and advertisement effect measurement server. The present invention includes a viewing behavior measurement device configured to receive a viewer image obtained by imaging one or more viewers who are viewing broadcast content, recognize the one or more viewers from the received viewer image to generate viewing behavior information, and deliver the generated viewing behavior information, and an advertisement effect measurement server configured to analyze an advertisement effect for each viewer on the basis of the received viewing behavior information and generate and deliver an advertisement effect measurement result.

An apparatus for inferring a user profile includes a data processor configured to analyze viewing patterns of sample families from received sample family data, extract viewing pattern characteristics from the analyzed viewing patterns, and generate one or more sorters by classifying the viewing pattern characteristics into groups; a target family data processor configured to generate target family viewing pattern information based on received target family data; and a profile inference component configured to generate a primary inference result by classifying the target family viewing pattern information through the one or more sorters, and inferring a specific group of members present in the target family based on the viewing pattern characteristics.
