Abstract:
A refrigerator is provided with an evaporator assembly located in a compartment. The evaporator assembly includes a pipe, a fan assembly, a plurality of fins, a first and second bracket. The pipe is configured to transport a refrigerant that exchanges heat with an air stream from the compartment. The plurality of fins is inserted on the pipe. The brackets each include apertures to receive bent end portions of the pipe. The brackets are configured to hold the pipe and the fins in a specific position, to mount the evaporator assembly within the compartment, and restrict the air stream exiting the evaporator assembly from mixing with the air stream entering the evaporator assembly. The fins include end fins that are placed in direct contact with the first end bracket and are configured to further restrict the air stream from flowing through the plurality of apertures of the brackets.
Abstract:
A refrigeration appliance that includes a cabinet defining a storage compartment. A door is pivotably coupled to the cabinet and movable between a closed position for closing the storage compartment and an open position for allowing access to the storage compartment. A dispensing assembly is disposed on at least one of the cabinet and the door for supplying water and/or ice. The dispensing assembly includes a dispensing tube fluidly connected to a source of water and having an outlet opening for allowing a stream of water to exit the dispensing tube upon command and an illumination system for illuminating a predetermined target location that corresponds to a position of a terminal end of the stream of water exiting from the dispensing tube.
Abstract:
A refrigeration appliance includes a refrigeration circuit with a variable speed compressor, an evaporator, and a variable speed evaporator fan. A controller is operatively connected to the refrigeration circuit and is programmed to calculate a heat load ratio as a ratio between the difference between the ambient temperature and the set point temperature of the fresh-food compartment and the difference between the ambient temperature and the freezer compartment reference point; calculate a speed of one or both of the variable speed compressor and the variable speed evaporator fan as a function of the calculated heat load ratio; and operate one or both of the variable speed compressor and the variable speed evaporator fan at the calculated speed. A method of controlling temperature in cavities of a refrigerator is also provided.
Abstract:
A cabinet including a compartment may include a plastic sheet partially defining the compartment and including a formed portion, and a component partially around which the formed portion is set. The component may be embedded within the formed portion.
Abstract:
Provided is a refrigeration appliance that includes a fresh food compartment and a freezer compartment. An opening is provided between the freezer compartment and the fresh food compartment to allow air to flow from the fresh food compartment to the freezer compartment and an air tower located within the fresh food compartment is adapted to deliver air from the freezer compartment to the fresh food compartment.
